Casa da Muzyka - Lovely Loft

The apartment is located right in the old town, just a short walk to the University of Coimbra, with nightlife close by. It is tastefully furnished, and the host was very kind – we were even able to check in an hour earlier.

As it is in the heart of the city, it can be quite noisy at night, which made sleeping a bit difficult. The bed is rather narrow, though there is also a sofa bed available as an alternative.

This is the best accomodation I have ever stayed at. The host was extremely accommodating and polite and the apartment itself is absolutely stunning inside. Your view looks out over the Old Cathedral which is magical. The bathroom is very spacious and well appointed and the kitchen (complete with a washing machine) has everything you could need. This should be your first option for any stay in Coimbra!

Three things: bed too small, no very clean and no airco. For us the bed was too small (140cm for 2 people). At home we are used to a 180cm bed. So we decided that one of us would sleep on the bunk/sofa bed (slaapbank). Unfortunately the sofa wasn’t clean, so at arrival I had to vacuum clean the sofa, turn it into a bed and make my own bed. Besides that there is no airco in the apartment. Our stay started with cleaning and making a bed, whilst it was over 30 degrees.

We stayed six nights in May. We received the check in information by email the morning of our arrival and the owner was friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean, tidy, well equipped and was a good size for the two of us. Located in the centre of the old town, it was near to many cafes/restaurants/bars but was very quiet at night. There was a small grocery store just a minute away from the front door but for a better selection of essentials for a week we had to walk to a supermarket about 25 minutes away on the main road passing the station (Coimbra-A). It was a steep walk (as expected) up the hill from the station but there was a small bus from Largo Portagem (2 Euro per person) that stopped outside Se Velha. We enjoyed our stay in Coimbra and would recommend the apartment to other travellers.

Nothing we did not like

We had a fantastic stay at Casa da Muzyka. Our host Hélio was incredibly welcoming and gave us great tips for exploring Coimbra. The apartment is in a great location—close to everything—but keep in mind that Coimbra is a lively student city, and it can get quite noisy at night, especially during student festivities. We were lucky to be there during one of these celebrations and got to experience the city’s vibrant energy firsthand. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for their warm hospitality!

Great location in Coimbra. Walk to campus is short, but steeply uphill. Close to bars & restaurants. Property managers were responsive to one minor issue - kettle wasn't working and it was promptly replaced. Apartment is cute and cozy - perfect for one or two people.

The apartment building is quite loud - neighbors sometimes make a lot of noise and people slam the front door at all hours.

Very satisfied with the living conditions in the apartments. Excellent location in the historical part of the city, comfortable and convenient accommodation. Good Wi-Fi. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary equipment.
