Villa Pura - Private Jacuzzi & Heated Pool

Good outside space, good location. Bus just opposite villa , 1 euro into town

Air conditioning in lounge did not work, changed batteries on remote, still didn't work. Contacted owner who replied it worked for previous guest. I found a power button inside the main unit, this was the only way to turn aircon on and off. The filters were filthy and covered in dust. I took filters out and cleaned by hand. There is no kettle at the property, 1 tea towel and the quality of linen and towels are of a poor standard. The bbq had not been cleaned from previous guests. Day 2 the dishwasher stopped working and pumped water over kitchen floor. Owner notified and told an engineer would come out, they never did. Owner hardly ever replies. Our stay was for two weeks, we expected a change of bed linen. None was forthcoming so we removed sheets and washed ourselves. We were horrified to find the mattress cover was mouldy and covered in mould spots. Day 3 the fridge freezer stopped working and over heated. The reason for this was it hadn't been defrosted in months. We lost a couple of items of food but that was the least of the problem. My wife had to defrost the fridge after we returned home one night. The pool was not cleaned during our entire stay and there was not even a net to clear dead flies and debris. By day 9 the pool was so cloudy and had algae in the pool, we never used for the remainder of the holiday. This was for my 60th birthday and for the cost of nearly £2,000 left a bitter taste. We felt hard done by and left very disappointed. Also a socket hanging off the wall with exposed wires.

Not sure if the owner is Manolo or if he manages the property but he was absolutely hopeless, worst I have experienced in 25 years of travelling to this area. We had our 3 year old grandchildren, daughter and son in law with us and when we arrived an electrical socket was hanging out of the wall adjacent to the dining table and the TV had no volume despite the fact it was a very nice smart TV so not helpful as the socket was dangerous and the kids could watch TV without sound. We then went to our rooms and both the twin beds in one of the rooms had not been assembled correctly, they were wobbly and not very safe, there was a shelf on the wall hanging on by a thread and a lamp which we tried to move and it separated into 2 pieces so obviously had fallen off the shelf at some point in time and rather than fix it the problem had been concealed by someone. The air conditioning in the master bedroom did not work at all and is quite old so probably needs replacing. The cistern in the master bedroom had no water in it as it wasn't sealing properly, fortunately my son in law is a plumber and he did a temporary fix. I contacted Manolo about these things and he asked 'why didn't I inform him in advance about the beds?' Having just arrived I don't see how I could have done it sooner? I fixed the TV myself thanks to YouTube. After 2 days of waiting, I went out and bought some tools to fix the beds as the wife and I had grown tired of sleeping on the sofa after all we are both in our 60's and had expected this to be sorted the same day. Nothing else got fixed during our stay despite several text messages, Manolo just ignored us completely, finally answering me the day after we arrived home. He told me he had dismissed the maintenance company and employed another but this is probably not true as he is the owner of the original maintenance company.

Good location. Easy parking. Clean place. Ok beds. Could do with more kitchen utensils. The pool / jaccusi were not 'heated' as advertised. Very helpful staff. Note there's only one key but despite being two families we managed to figure out a way to share it. Great place all in all, but could be slightly better.

The property is really well located and has a lovely view of the sea. The outside area is very relaxing, with a good sized heated pool, hot tub and it’s a sun trap! We spent so much time outside and just loved the set up. Inside the living room is cosy and open plan feels spacious and pleasant. Overall, we had a great stay! The host was quick to reply to any issues we had and the maintenance staff on hand. We would definitely stay again.

Kitchen could be better stocked (no sharp knives) and needs more pots pans (we cooked a lot as we have 3 small children), and the beds in one particular room are very dated and noisy so they should be updated.

Liked everything about this villa. Very clean and comfortable. Bus stop to nerja across the road was handy. The heated pool in January was a great addition. Great holiday and would definitely recommend this villa..

The location of the property was fabulous. A 40 minute walk into Nerja centre and a 15 minute walk to bars and restaurants down on the beach. The villa is located in a quiet residential area and the heated pool and jacuzzi were a great addition to the holiday! Being able to look out to sea from the balcony was wonderful with gorgeous sunrise skies in the morning. We took a fabulous walk right to the top of the urbanisation and there were spectacular views of the surrounding area, well worth it if you have suitable footwear. Great value and contact with property managers impressive!

There wasn’t an iron available at the property and it would have been nice for some operating instructions for the jacuzzi and WiFi etc. An information pack would have been helpful.

In general it is a nice villa in the quiet part of Nerja, with the private pool and jacuzzi. It seems that it was recently renovated, but not in full and some part of the house requires attention of the owner. The villa have a side view to the sea and 5 min walk from the nearest beach. There is no problem with parking which is free on the street in the front of the building. There were 3 bedrooms on the first floor and living room with the kitchen on the ground floor. The villa is surrounded by terraces with tables for dining out and sun beds.

The air condition system was left old and there are only two units in the living room downstairs and in the main bedroom upstairs. The other two bedrooms has no A/C and we have to keep all doors open to keep at least reasonable temperatures. The property manager offered us one portable cooling unit but using it all night in the small bedrooms was not possible. In the kitchen new frying pan is needed. The one which is there should be thrown away.
