Watching the northern lights from the balcony

I prefer that all financial transactions go through booking.com and not separate private arrangements than cause a lot of stress in advance because you do not know in advance that they will work with enhanced bank security.

The home was cozy and spacious, and you have the place to yourself. Great location, close to both the bus stop and a supermarket. The balcony was also a nice bonus when you need some fresh air. The host was friendly and responded immediately.

Stayed for 4 days and had no issues during the stay

I dont like how hard the bed was and the pillow that I was using it was dirty

The owner of the apartment was exceptional. Always helpful and willing to solve our problems. The location is great because is close to the bus station (they only accept Danish kroners, guys!) and grocery store (atm inside). If you decide to explore the city, you can walk to the main attractions (prepare yourselves for the endless stairs) and, the best, you can see aurora borealis from the balcony of the apartment.

The lack of good english speaking taxi drivers and the extreme difficulty getting in touch with the Nuuk taxi service before 9AM to go on a limited number ice fjord cruise...the primary reason for my visit to Nuuk Greenland. Frustratingly, I missed my scheduled cruise as a result the first time around. Fortunately, I was able to reschedule to the next day. The next day, knowing how critical it was not to miss the departure time a second time and knowing the problems I had the day before, I made 80 attempts to try to get a taxi ahead of a 9AM deadline, and kept getting a pre-recorded message in Danish or Greenlandic, as I had the day before. I decided to walk in the end but kept trying to call the taxi company while walking, as there was a chance I might still miss the departure time. When I finally did get through, the promised taxi did not arrive!!! I kept calling for another taxi, and about 15 minutes before the 9AM departure deadline, Nuuk taxi's answered and were finally able to send a cab. I arrived at 9.00 AM. Fortunately the I highly recommend booking ahead the day before, if departure deadlines are critical. As an addendum, I did book a taxi to the airport and given the problems I'd had previously, I got very little sleep wondering if the taxi was going to turn up, as in Nuuk, early in the morning, there are literally no other options! Fortunately the taxi did arrive on time, as booked. So credit where credit is due. Nuuk Taxis finally came through and got me to the airport on time! 🙏
