The Au Co Cruise - Managed by Bhaya Cruises

We really enjoyed our stay with Au Co Cruise. The boat was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the vessel was just the right size — we never felt like it was crowded. Everything was smooth and very well organised. We travelled with our 1-year-old baby, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, even preparing special food for him. Their kindness and attention made a big difference. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this cruise!

Need to work again on the program 3D2N. The 2nd day was not that worth it. Need to change the visit order to get to Sung Sot Cave when it is not crowded. Need to organize more time for swimming, we only have 30 min of swimming for 3 days program. Reorganize time of visiting beaches for example (Trinh Nu cave is only available for swimming in the afternoon when the tide goes up)

The Legend boat was fantastic, beautiful 3 cabins, lovely eating area and open outside sitting area, it felt like a luxury boat. Our cruise manager Kevin was great as were the chef and other staff. We had been booked on a 3 day/2 night AU Co Cruise - managed by Bhaya Crusie in a larger shared boat. That particular cruise was cancelled due to not enough numbers, they then reorganised us on our own Legend 3 cabin boat cruise. We followed the same itinerary that we would have had on the shared cruise. ie first day cruising out to Ha Long Bay area and kayaking then walking through a small cool cave and going on a beach (this area is owned/set up by Bhaya Cruise Coy). That evening we had a lesson on how to create spring rolls and did squid fishing. Day 2 We started with a Tai Chi lesson which we enjoyed. We then saw Hang Sung Sot Cave, an excellent massive cave with 3 chambers and a nice walk through it, this cave was a highlight for us. Then an electric car ride to Cang Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island (village is sponsored by Bhaya Cruise Coy). This was interesting, we should have biked it rather than use the electric car. There is a few ups and downs, but it looked easy and most people were biking it. You are expected to give a bit of cash for using the electric car. Then late afternoon we visited a floating village, we went on a small boat rowed by a women who lived at the floating village, you are expected to give a bit of cash to the village lady for rowing you around. Again this was an interesting activity. Night 2 we had the chef show us fruit caving and did squid fishing again. Our family didn't manage to catch and land any squid. It is a bit before the main season for catching them. It was still fun and you could see some of them and some fish swimming around under the lights. Day three morning is eating brunch packing up and cruising back to the starting wharf.

Food was all lovely. Staff were amazing. The trips were generally good, although the canoeing and beach visit on the last morning were unnecessary - the sea was dirty compared to Lanha bay the previous day.

Wifi very poor (not helped by location!). Would have been good to have included basic drinks in the package - having to pay for even a coffee on a cruise is frustrating.

The cruise was really well organised. The staff were amazing. They were attentive, helpful, welcoming and friendly. The cabin and facilities were clean and well maintained. The food was delicious with a huge variety. They went to a great effort to assist with and dietary requirements. The excursions were also lots of fun.

No Gimics needed! Ha Long Bay is amazing! This cruise did the absolute best they could, given the overall situation of "over touristing" in the Ha Long bay area. The time that we went seems ideal - late September because it is between the heavier summer and late fall seasons. We were also fortunate, in a way, because a major Typhoon had hit the area and done significant damage only a few weeks before our trip. Therefore there were less people verturing into the area. Also, we booked the Long Quan Suite, which is incredibly appointed and situated at the rear of the ship with a fantastic private outdoor balcony area. (only downside of that was fumes from the diesel motors when wind was in the wrong direction)

The meals were generally good, when they were served buffet style. The two set meals were most definitely not to my liking. Seems to be an extremely stilted and old fashioned way to do it.

This was a great all inclusive Halong Bay cruise. Definitely recommend 2 nights over 1 night. Very relaxing. Our Tour Managers were very good, in particular Joy, everything was very efficient getting on/off tenders and doing the bike riding and kayaking and knowing when and where to go. Food was excellent - highlight was the BBQ Seafood dinner. Drinks were reasonable and happy hour was great to enjoy the sunset from the rooftop.
