I liked our view of Mt Fuji.

I paid for a room with 5 twin beds. I got a room with Three. It says bed and breakfast. But, no where in booking my accommodations did it give me an opportunity to order breakfast. We get there and were told, no breakfast for you. 😒 Also, this place is definitely off the beaten path. Not hugely convenient if you come in on public transit. It's a thirty minute walk from the nearest long travel bus station.

I never would have believed that the best meal of my Japan trip would be French food cooked in the shadow of Mt. Fuji, but life is funny sometimes. This place is FANTASTIC! From passing Google translate back and forth with the sweet proprietor, to soaking in the private onsen after a long day of walking, to watching Mt. Fuji out my hotel window, I loved every second of staying here. The location is fantastic as well - it's about a 10-minute walk from the touristy areas of lake Yamanaka, but that small distance makes all the difference in terms of peace and quiet at the end of the day. Can't recommend this place enough. And again: get the dinner package!!
