Madeira Loft I - City Center

In a prime location, the apartment is near nice restaurants, shops, the ocean, and public transport, making it very stylish. With two separate bedrooms, each with a kitchen and toilet, the apartment is ideal for two couples. Communication with the host was excellent.

One thing to be aware of is a bar playing loud music until 2 am on weekends, which could be disruptive for early sleepers. It's important to note that only one room has windows, but the apartment is fully air-conditioned.

Located in the center, close to a lot of restaurants and cafes, it is very spacious and clean, has 2 apartments each one with its own kitchen and bathroom, it is equipped with everything you need, easy check in.

Because of its central location, the parking might be difficult. But there are some parking buildings 5-10 min walk from the apartment that have a good price for a day (we found one with 6€ per 24 hours).

I ran into a snafu on the transportation from the airport to the apartment in the center of Funchal, due to a miscommunication with my traveling partner. As a result, I arrived at the apartment quite late in the evening and the host heard from one of the taxi drivers (incorrectly, unfortunately) that I had decided not to come to the apartment. So when I finally arrived, no one was there to meet me. But I sent a text to the owner, and he promptly got out of bed at one o'clock a.m. to cheerfully let me in and make sure I was comfortable. His kindness and hospitality despite my confusion, due to no fault of his, was remarkable and very gratifying. I'm a permanent fan of him and will stay there again any time I return to Funchal.

The automatic door deadlock extended twice before the door was closed, making it impossible to close. Both times the owner responded quickly and helpfully to rectify the problem. I'm confident that he will figuredout how to avoid this issue going forward.

Well located in the city center. Nice, well equiped apartman for 4 person. Friendly host Ricardo was very helpful and kind. Te WIFI and the Netflix option was very good.

I travelled to Madeira for the first time with my best friend. To sum up Esmeraldo 18 in one word, it would be: incredible! Ricardo has been an excellent host. You will be given your check in information 24hrs before you check in, which is plenty of time and ensures the utmost safety for you and also the apartment itself. Esmeraldo 18 is beautifully decorated, the decor all matches and it is very classy and sophisticated. It is bigger than the photos show! Tall ceilings, big airy, roomy apartment. Stunning decor with many facilities! The main room overlooks a square with a few cafés and has huge windows which can open onto the square. In the middle of these two windows, there is a door, which can open fully and you can sit and have breakfast by the open door. These windows and doors allow a lot of natural light into the flat, which is stunning in a place like Funchal! The main room has a beautiful bed on a slightly raised platform with a few shallow stairs (a beautiful feature!). It has heaps of storage space - there are cupboards within the walls which can be used to hang clothes and there are also spare pillows and blankets here. There is a smart samsung TV in the bedroom! The bathroom in the main room consists of a shower room which is beautiful with white marble style tiling and an excellent shower which is very spacious and has an excellent powerful shower head and rainfall shower head. There is a heated towel rack here too. The toilet is situated opposite the shower room. The toilet room is big and spacious with a beautiful sink and also houses a hairdryer and toilet rolls and a water jet to use, should you wish. In the middle of the shower room and toilet room, there is a corner where there is a mirror and sink area which is spacious and beautiful. Just opposite this, is a full length mirror.
