Zamzam Hotel 2

Our experience of staying at the hotel was really good. The check-in was smooth and our room was clean and quite big compared to other hotels. It had a lounge area as well with sofa and a table which we used as a dinning table. Our room also had a small kitchenette with a cooker, microwave and sink. The bathroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable. However, the most important thing about the hotel is that it is right across the Imam Ali haram, just 5-6 minutes walk and you're inside the haram, which was amazing. Or booking also had breakfast included, there is a nice variety and lot of options available. Overall we would recommend staying here, its clean, the staff are friendly and it is close to Imam Ali shrine.

The front desk lied to me saying he was upgrading my king room with a suite out of his good heart but not telling me there is construction work going on above that suite so lot of hammer banging on wall noise was very very noisy

The main thing to say about the hotel is that is has an incredible location right next to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali. The views are wonderful; either out over the shrine, or over Lake Najaf. The hotel is modern and clean, and well managed in line with international standards - the staff are helpful and speak good English. There is a lovely garden where guests can enjoy food, drinks and Shisha in the evenings. A great option for visitors to the Old City of Najaf.

It feels so pleasant as soon as you enter with fresh fragrance, smiling staff and very good ambience with spotless marble and fountains welcoming you. I was pleasantly surprised by the fluent English speaking staff especially Manar(who we later learned was a Medical student intern). The Ma'am at reception quickly did the check-in formalities and returned our passports without any fuss. We were welcomed to our rooms which were upgraded to Suite and our luggage was taken care of by the courteous staff. Also, we were served free cold drinks, snacks, fruits and sweets, a very nice gesture which portrays Iraqi hospitality. We were surprised by the huge rooms with a living room furnished with sofa, furniture and a fridge. The bedroom was huge with very comfy King bed, comfy chairs and center table. It was fully furnished with tea, coffee, a fridge, a flat screen TV and even Bathrobes. The icing on the cake was breathtaking view of the Najaf Sea(lake) where we saw beautiful sunsets and the garden below. The bathroom was also spotless with all accessories included and very clean. The Breakfast on offer was enormous with a huge variety of cheese, breads, creams, olives, salads and fully cooked meals to choose from. It was continuously refilled from 7-11am. The staff was so courteous and didn't even accept any tips. The garden was fantastic but unfortunately we couldn't enjoy it fully due to paucity of time, hopefully next time. The location is simply perfect, right next to Imam Ali Zainulabideen's House and walking distance from Imam Ali's Haram. We would definitely visit here next time.

The hot water was a persistent issue, we informed the staff a about it and they promised to fix the technicalities. Also, due to ongoing construction in one wing, there was disturbance early morning. The staff offered us another room in another wing and we didn't have any disturbance there. The lunch and buffet could be a cheaper, we found it too expensive compared to what is available in nice restaurants outside.
