WILLOW RIDGE - a large country house with 3 rental rooms

My room was excellent. Recently redecorated. It was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable and a lovely en suite with a big walk in shower. WiFi, strong & reliable. Private off street parking with cctv. Lisa was a great host, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay there again.

The house and the location were both lovely. With plenty of parking. The hostess couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. She recommended a couple of local pubs where we could get an evening meal. The bed was so comfortable and the walking shower was delightful and powerful.

Proximity to airport, lovely views, super room. Very friendly and helpful hostess. Lisa is a very bubbly character and nothing is too much trouble.

No breakfast The owner was Rude as i smoke but never in or on someones property i always ask, she commented on how she is a non smoker and likened me to the teenagers that go up there in evenings, that was bad enough she went on to make me feel incredibly uncomfortable as she was a pharmacists wife for years proceeded to in 2mins of meeting me, telling me instead of my natural remedies i should be taking more addictive pharamacuticles like naproxin instead. I was ridiculed and sarcasm was really terrible, she asked me question and i said sorry i dont know, she replied that will be your smoking messing with your brain. What right did she have to speak to me in this way, im a cancer survivor and other ailments that i smoke herbally to ease my pain. The proprietor was nosey and pushy about her folders and eating OUT in restaurants near by, no takeaways in the NEW ROOM and that we are the lucky ones as its brand new....overly stated that fact making us feel like we were less than what she expects for her rooms. NO lock on the door, the door was sticking so couldnt go to the bath room through the night for fear of waking the woman. She is ill qualified to tell someone what pharmaceuticals they should be taking as she was a pharmacists wife years ago. All together a bad stay. Left early to avoid the woman as i felt that upset was up and out hours before we had to. Never again homestays will be staying in hotels from now on, at least i dont get ridiculed and made to feel inferior. Overall a very unpleasant stay.

I stayed in the newly renovated king room with garden view (which the hostess calls the “Orchid Room”) and it was superb. She has thought of every little detail to make a guest stay wonderful. The bed was super comfy with an electric blanket if I had needed it, and quality bed linen which matched the decor. Tea / coffee making facilities were great and the towels were soft & fluffy. The room was spotlessly clean, nice and warm and I could control the temperature of the room myself. There were plenty of power points, USB sockets and dimmable lights if I wanted. The bathroom was immediately next door making it feel like an en-suite. Lisa has put together 2 informative folders; one showing all the local pubs and restaurants in the area with menus from each venue, and one of many local tourist attractions. I had a free off-road parking space on the large driveway and the house is in a lovely quiet village overlooking the countryside. The hostess couldn’t have been more friendly, lovely and helpful and I will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

Lovely room, very helpful and courteous host. Comfortable bed and room impeccably clean.

I can not rate this enough everything you would need for a night away. Every detail has been thought of. I was lucky enough to be the first guest in the orchard room and it was fab. Slept like a dream. Wouldn’t be able to say what was good as everything was 101% Thankyou I will be back

Not sure I will be able to get in again once everyone realises how good this is😂
