"I had hoped to visit a Chinese cultural center, the main reason we came to this town."

There was no breakfast, but a short drive to a good cafe.

Not very clean. The bathroom mirror was filthy and there were used pods in the coffee maker.

No Breakfast, location is good. Located in town within walking distance to about everything you need.

"quiet well run small motel"

wifi is good. very reasonable onsite guest laundry. very friendly innkeepers. well maintained rooms, nothing fancy but clean and in good repair, no stairs to climb. bad reviews on this place are wrong and out of date

i would gladly book here again when visiting John Day

"Very dated, uncomfortable beds."

The location was good. Was in a very quiet area and the A/C worked well.

The hotel was VERY dated and in need of repairs. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. There were big gaps in the door frame, mold in the bathroom and stains in the toilet. We reserved a triple room, but it was actually 2 rooms and the only little TV was in the single-bed room. My kids did not enjoy snuggling together to watch TV.
