Lochhournhead B&B & Tea Room

The drive to the B&B was one of the most scenic views I've seen on our roadtrip across Scotland. Very friendly and helpful staff!

Have paid for accommodation in advance. Booked food because of the isolated location, a total of 500 pounds for 1 night with 2 parents and 3 children. On the day of arrival the guest house was not accessible due to heavy rain. 3 miles from the destination the road was totaly flooded and made it impassable for us. No reception in the valley, so no phone calls possible. Unnecessary outward journey + return journey of 1 hour each required, despite multiple inquiries in advance as to whether the road was passable. It doesn't help that the operators then kindly wanted to pick us up at the valley entrance with a large pickup (it was dark and would have meant a total of 4 hours of travel without being able to leave again the next day). Requests to at least jointly bear the financial burden of the unsuccessful journey and lack of service remained unanswered repeatedly. If you don't care about having a similar experience when it rains, don't care when the return journey is not possible and you can forgo a lot of money, then you should try your luck. We would never do it again and are disappointed in every way, with an otherwise wonderful holiday in Scotland.

Scenic beauty.

Initially our rude host (cook). We were 45 mins early, asked where we could put our things, he rudely replied to me (68 years of age and a woman); in your car. We found our own solution and had tea in the tea room which might be intentional. It was POURING, and the narrow, twisty, roller coaster ride for 22 miles was challenging. So, not a good start. Late check in time. Food prices. Expensive accommodation for basics. I would say they cater more to hikers.

Nature is AMAZING!! On the narrow road leading to this accommodation, we stopped the car several times and admired nature. You can see highland cows, deer & sheep. It was really beautiful. The accommodation was warm and comfortable. The staff were so kind and nice. We would like to come back!

Wow! What a unique property. It really is in the middle of nowhere, perfect for hikers or someone wanting an escape from the busy world we live in. However I would reccomend a 4-wheel drive, especially as we go into the colder and wetter months. Rooms were clean, water hot, wifi decent considering it's via satellite and breakfast was lovely. Next time would want to stay longer than one night.

Brilliant location. Gorgeous wilderness. Fabulous hikes. Warm welcome from hosts. Large, clean, comfy room. Peaceful and quiet. Very good homemade food.

Should have stayed longer!

The drive to place is challenging but 100% worth the views along the way. The couple who run it are very welcoming and the room was just what we needed. Definatly recommend a stay here

There was nothing not to like. We enjoyed the drive and the remote location of the place.
