St. John Suite

The location of this amazing little apartment was very close to a bus stop and mini supermarket. Short walking distance to the city centre and some attractions too. Clean and comfortable for a couple, perfect for a short stay. Paul always replied quickly when we messaged and helpfully organised airport transfers.

The upstairs air-con didn't seem to work but had additional fans for cooling us down.

It’s a comfortable amount of space for 2 people. Bathroom and kitchen are on the main floor as advertised and bedroom and living room are upstairs. Close to town and easy access for cab pickup and drop off.

It was great. Nothing not to like.

Cold , dark and damp needed more towels

The Suite itself is beautiful. Elegant and distinctive. Location is superb. Excellent little grocery / food markets, restaurants, bars, coffee shops close by. Quiet street. WiFi is excellent.

The flat was UNREASONABLY cold. Ridiculously so. No extra blankets. A tiny electric heater that proved to be useless. It was absolutely impossible to feel comfortable inside the place due to the CHILL; so I was out and about during the days and only stayed in to sleep. I tried everything possible to be comfortable, a waste of time. It was like renting a Walk-In cooler inside a restaurant kitchen where perishables are stored. There is no heating inside whatsoever, and no word in advance from anyone to alert me to the temperature issue. Very disappointed.

We liked staying as a couple & not in a hotel around Maltese families. Local corner stores, etc. So close to all museums and easy to transport and ferry harbour activities.

The apartment is in an ideal location for exploring Valletta and the 3 Cities. It is conveniently located to everything but quieter than staying right in the centre. The bed was very comfortable, as was the sitting area. The kitchen was well equipped for light meal preparation. Communication with Paul both before our arrival and while we were there was excellent. Paul recommended a guide for the 3 Cities walking tour which we booked before we left home and we liked him so much, we booked 2 other tours while we were there. The company is besttoursmalta.com and we would highly recommend them. We did both the 3 Cities and Valletta walks and they were both excellent. We booked the Mdina and Rabat walk but missed it because my husband was sick. We found a lovely pizza spot right around the corner - Sally Port Pizzeria which was great for the evenings when we didn’t want to venture very far. We noticed a couple of minor issues just after we got there and Paul arranged for them to be resolved right away.

The apartment was wonderful, but there were a couple of minor things that warrant mentioning. The bathroom is very small and there is nowhere to hang towels. We draped ours over the back of the kitchen chairs. The only place for toiletries is on a shelf under the sink which was not the end of the world, just a bit inconvenient. The most significant issue is that the bathroom is on a different floor than the bedroom which is difficult in the middle of the night 😉. Bottom line is that the apartment is excellent value and as long as you are OK with these minor inconveniences, you will not be disappointed!

Excellent location in Valletta. Duplex had everything we needed for our stay and allowed us to easily cook in a few times. Bed was comfortable and wifi was excellent. Good air conditioning. Very easy instructions to access property. Good little shop on the corner where you can get necessities. Owner was very good at communicating.

The aircon is a little loud in the bedroom. As the building is old it is not very sound proof. I think we just got a bit unlucky with some loud people on the street.

It was very easy and straightforward to collect. There is not really much to add on it.

Not like is a heavy word; but rather I would say, some room for improvements would be: Acs were a bit loud, especially the upstairs, we tried hard to keep it silent. Of course, Malta in summer is super hot and the stone building greatly helps to cool it down. Upstairs where you sleep gets warmer. It would be great to consider a more silent AC, to help sleeping. Also it was not cooling down very effectively, but still, overall we were very happy. Another thing to improve would be to provide additional blankets (there was one but dirty we had to clean it).
