Leigh-on-Sea Retreat - 2 Bedroom Apartment

Good location. Staff were excellent 👌. Comfy accomodation which is an apartment in a 1930's building, many original features to the property which was nice to see.

This place was very disappointing, as you can see from the photos (I can only upload 4) this is a very used and dated place. It was very dirty, stained and damp and staining on the walls. As you walk up to the apartment the place smells like urine and cigarettes. We couldn’t even keep the windows open without having the smell of cigarettes from the neighbours fill the whole apartment. I don’t know how this place has decent reviews. Staining on the beds, sofas, walls. This place needs a deep professional clean. Host was unhelpful in telling us how to use the oven. Kitchen and appliances oven are very dated, held together with sellotape. I would avoid this place, I will be complaining to booking.com to get some money back.

The host didn't do the change over so we arrived to unmade beds and screwed up used towels on the bedroom floors. and dirty bathroom. The host did respond really quickly and we had the flat cleaned the next day (we asked not to bother that night as we had arrived late and were tired) we'd found some clean towels and sheets in a cupboard. However i would have expected to be offered discount but this didn't happen. So won't be staying there again.

The property is very spacious with lots of natural light.

The property on whole was very good, however there some bits that need attention. The front door lock is loose, the toilet kept running and only a small bath towel was provided per person.

Would have like some shower gel/shampoo as we didn’t have any with us and had to go and buy some

I loved the location as it was nostalgic for my childhood holidays. The flat was spacious and well appointed. My kids loved it too.
