La Rêverie de Thumel - Suite

The rooms are very beautiful and luxurious, located in an house fully rebuild in old “mountainhut” style. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The even brought us glue to fix one of the mountainboot soles. Very clean rooms with great beds. We had a terrace adjacent to the room, with a table, chairs and sunchairs. For rooms without terrace their is plenty room/ meadow + chairs around the hotel. The location is great for making hiking tours in the upper part of val di rhêmes.

The bar/ restaurant next to the hotel, serves a a good continental breakfast with home baked bread, butter and marmalades, as well as various sorts of muesli and yogurt and fruits. Also hard boiled eggs are on the breakfast table. Good coffee and thea is served. What could be better is the addition of some cheese and meat to the breakfast, but overall we were very pleased with the breakfast. Dinner in the same restaurant is not haute cuisine but a bit basic, however it is very authentic regional food of which most is prepared in a nearby wood oven. In our case we would have preferred food with less/ no salt added, but we enjoyed the meals and the ‘mountain hut’ atmosphere There also are within 10 auto minutes, sufficient alternatives for those that want to try-out another restaurant.

Breakfast only after 9:30. Too late for my activities.

Amazing location and amazing, modern, very comfortable room. Be careful in restaurant 😊 - very delicious and portions are huge!

Only 1 choice for dinner.

Breakfast was a little lacking in choice as was supper.This was disappointing as otherwise the experience was very good. No real choice elsewhere either. I think they are still in the building stages.
