Collection of key is easy but if you dont know where the apartment is every difficult to use the keys. Terrible check in process and follow up.

However the key collection point is not in the apartment, is in another location. Even I have paid for the room weeks in advanced, the day before of my arrival I have not received any information regarding check in instructions. I have to contact the them get it. They should have send it everything in advance. When I received the key collection info the day before they say they will send another whatsapp with apartment location, which is different from the key collection place. They never send the info. I arrived at the key collection the next day in the evening nothing was send during the entire day or night before, I was waiting from 11 pm until 2.30 am in the car and calling to get the info and be able to go to the apartment and nobody was answering in any of the 3 number I have. Finally they pick it up at 2.30 am. They said info was sent with location, which was not truth and the delay in answering was because they were sleeping. Terrible care for you customers. On arrival at the apartment I had requested them twice in advanced to have the sofa bed also ready, of course was not ready I had to open it and made my bed at 3 am. Apartment had a very bad smell inside of rotten wood, humidity and insecticide. Also the sofa bed has bugs you can feel them jumping around, feel the itchiness and skin bites and marks . The Castle pics in the property picture is not the place you will stay.

Location - close to Menaggio and to the ferry to go to the other parts of the lake. No lake view from the apartment, but it is 1 min by walk from there. Cleanliness. The owners were very quick to fix two small issues we encountered in the apartment.

The address in Booking is not correct. We had to call the property (German number, so in non-EU roaming it gets more expensive) to get the right directions (arrived before 6pm, ie, within check in time). Soundproof is non existent - in the bedroom it is possible to clearly hear people talking and going up and down on the stairs outside.

1) very difficult to locate the unit, especially at night. emailed directions don’t guide the first time visitor we’ll enough. the name of the rental on Booking.com is of no help. it takes a bit of searching to understand that Cipresso 7 has meaning. please advise future visitors that they should search for this building and unit. 2) the bedroom has a very musty odor. its location on the lower level and against the earth requires some insulation which is lacking. 3) please remove the portion of the advertisement that internet service is included. we had a nightmare to check in for our flight on the last day. 4) the unit is very dark except in the morning, especially the bathroom. an added and brighter light will help. 5) electrical load issues may be rectified by having only one refrigerator plugged in. we didn’t realize that there were two in operation. 6) ad should specify that the lake view is only partial. 7) the cleaning fee came as a surprise. floor should be cleaned thoroughly from previous visitors, especially if a few is applied. 8) instructions for the induction stove top will help future visitors. an incorrect frying pan should be removed.

it would be nice to have tea/coffee at the apartment.

The apartment is very close to the lake with a nice pebble beach, and is located in a quiet area. It's close to the beautiful Menaggio and is easily accessible from the main road. The terrace is spacious and with a view on the lake and the mountains. There's everything you need for a long-term stay.

It seems like nobody checked the apartment for cleanliness before checking in new guests. The dishes and blankets were not entirely clean. However, this was quickly resolved by the staff. The living room was a bit crammed with furniture and objects that were taking a lot of space, it looked different from the photos (2 fridges, 2 tables, a vacuum cleaner, a baby chair - we weren't traveling with a baby). The windows in the bedroom can be opened but there's a half-basement space outside, so there's an unpleasant smell of humidity coming in. The apartment by itself is not bad, but everything mentioned above is a big minus. If this issues are resolved, the place would be good value for money.
