"Home away from home"

10.0

Warm, welcoming, cosy, great space, an aga and log burner, very clean, comfy beds, cute little garden, allocated parking space in a bay steps away from the property, a few minutes drive to Widdecombe on the Moor, great little village with two great pubs, couple of gift shops, cafe and if you're lucky - ponies in the car park (£2 in the honesty box). A great base to explore Dartmoor, a home away from home! Excellent communication with hosts, thank you for a lovely stay in your beautiful home.

If you are less mobile, the stairs/steps to different rooms may be a factor to consider.

We loved the location, very calm and peaceful. The cottage was warm and cosy. Lovely comfortable beds and bedding. Two nice showers comfortable sitting room big enough for our party of 6. Very well equipped.

We have never cooked on an Aga before and it took some time to get used to how long it takes to warm up. I think it should be highlighter in the details that this is the only form of cooking.

"Relaxing, comfortable, and cosy, with great access to superb Dartmoor walks and outings."

9.0

We really liked the cottage itself, which was homely, comfortable, and had all the facilities we wanted. Very clean with nice linen and towels.

Its a shame the door to the garden requires going up a flight of carpeted stairs - results in doggy footprints on the carpet which need to be cleaned up. Parking area is a bit tricky!

"Would stay again if in the area"

Quirky, cosy and much larger than expected. Felt very homely and loved. Very comfy beds, lots of hot water. Milk, coffee, biscuits, logs and kindling was a lovely touch.

Some salt and pepper would be nice.

"Beautiful, comfortable cottage in a peaceful location."

9.0

Beautiful location convenient for many of the sights. Loved cooking on the Aga and the surprisingly effective central heating - despite poor weather we were very warm and comfortable inside. Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and lovely beds/ bedding. The children appreciated the little garden. The sitting room with its big fireplace and log burning stove was very cosy.

The only negative was the lack of washing machine. For a muddy hiking holiday with children in October this was a bit of problem.
