HUGS Nature Retreat Heated Pool & Jacuzzi

Accommodation is spacious, tastefully decorated, quiet, and with incredible views across the valley. Really, really lovely! We wish we had more time to explore and take walks in the surrounding countryside. (Property is only 20min from the nearest town, but we had a car so could go & come as we needed.)

This is a stunning property, the views are beautiful, the beds are so comfortable, we loved the bedding too. Everywhere was so clean, even when we had to move a bed a bit to get the charger in, it was so clean behind it. We went in February so we didn’t use the pools (well the kids did for a few minutes 😂). The owners were responsive and so accommodating too. About an hour to the airport and Porto. Ooh we loved the fire too, plenty of wood provided for some lovely fires.

Just two things to mention. The journey to the property isn’t the easiest once you are away from the national roads. This wasn’t helped though by the fact that we arrived late and in the rain. So be prepared for a tight entrance way and a steep climb. The second thing is the sofa. I guess in the hotter months you’d be outside in the sun so this might not be a problem but we did sit in the lounge by the fire and the sofa was so so low. It wouldn’t suit everyone.

Very nice and spacious house in beautiful and calm area, with and near the locals. Perfect place for great hikes (we did PR1, PR3, PR15). Nice host Luis.

Nothing, better than expected. Far away from busy life.

The villa is beautiful and the view is unbelievable - exceeding our expections. The location is very remote (and as such would recommend a car with automatic transmission to cope with the steep bends in places!) but that was exactly what we wanted as it was so peaceful you never wanted to leave. The kitchen had everything you need and the showers were great. The wifi was particularly good, reaching out into the garden. The pool was a particular attraction, perfect for a family. Luis was a great host and the team who visited mid-stay were excellent - very friendly.

The basement bedroom does not have airconditioning. However even in August at 30+ degrees, this wasn't an issue for us as the stone walls kept the downstairs rooms really cool.

The design and location of the property is superb! Fantastic nature surrounding the property and the small village! Lovely pool.

The ventilation could have been a bit better, especially in the basement.

Beautiful house with amazing view and super clean. The pool was great and the water at the right temperature.

The driveway was a bit uneven and palm tree on it makes it a bit hard to manoeuvre with a 7 seater/ family car.

Exceptional location, amenities and owner

Nothing. All perfect. Maybe the pillows a bit hard, and downstairs bedroom at pool side a bit humid, but these were very small details in an absolutely fabulous property.

What a beautiful setting. It was so lovely to visit this part of Portugal and see the authentic village here. This house is luxurious and the views are amazing from both inside and out. We visited Braga before check-in and it fit well into a day.
