Atlantic Reach Cottages, Newquay 6 miles, 2 Bedrooms

Everything started good with visit of Newquay and it takes until going to resort.

Unfortunately it was a terrible holiday, The resort is totally unexpected problems, nobody takes responsibilities and you are dealing with all the problems yourself. The property has a mould in a child room and smells everywhere humidity. We requested a travel cot and high chair for our baby and there was not at the home. We came from London and had to finish our holiday in one day.

Indoor and outdoor pools, clean house , friendly young staff and plenty of facilities to keep my family busy.

Outdoor swimming pool needs to be clean a bit more details. There are flies and other debris on water.

Staff friendly help facilities on site very good

Water turned brown for two days. This was out of the control of owners and the site management Then, we lost hot water for 3 days. This should have been fixed. Plumber, came and said all should be good in an hour or so. Hot water never returned. House was well stocked with kitchen facilities. It looked nice. But considering u can't get in before 4pm and out by 10am The house needed a good clean. The smell of mop was disgusting. Shower had mold

The resort was clean enough, however it looked as though the place could do with a lick of paint and was a little bit run down in areas. The house we stayed in was clean and comfortable opposite the outdoor pool. Location 6.6 miles from Newquay was good and connections to the A30.

Booking for pool areas was not ideal. The outdoor pool was rarely open and if it was you had to book and use a code. To be honest if it was open we wouldn't use it as it didn't look clean. The indoor pool is good but again having to book and find no slots available is not great. Both pools are sometimes unmanned. Invest in lifeguards during the summer months so all people to use the facilities and don't shut them down at 5.30pm. Also there is no-one to meet and greet at Atlantic Reach and is real self service. We found staff to be quite stone faced/rude on occasion which kind of put a damper on being on holiday. On-site activities are basic or close to non existent for the kids. On-site entertainment would have been a welcome change or a BBQ night but they don't provide these types of things. The place could also do with an onsite shop as the closest CO-OP (although close) was a faff to keep going to when you need basics. I think Atlantic Reach is good if you just want somewhere to stay in the Cornwall region and you're not too fussy about on-site facilities and activites.
