Belém Tejo - Jardim by Local

The apartment was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the view out the back window and the little patio table. And the hosts were excellent communicators and even left us a bottle of Portuguese wine to enjoy.

At night, it was a little loud when other folks in the building would open the main door and come up the staircase talking, but I think that's to be expected living in close quarters with others in a European city.

The flat is not very big, but it was clean, comfortable and in a nice neighborhood - we even had the chance to have authentic fado across the street. The host was very friendly, responsive and recommended us good local restaurants and helped with the transport. The flat has a somewhat unusual layout: You can reach the second bedroom from the first one, which can be strange if you are not a family. Also, the bathroom is on the other side of the small living room/kitchen than the bedrooms.

The service was absolutely exceptional. The facilities? Everything a family of four could need for a short or extended stay. The neighborhood? We didn't have a single bad meal; tons of attractions within walking distance; a grocery store (and several mini-mercados). We meant to go sightseeing, check out Sintra, Cascais, Evora. We ended up falling in love with the place, the quiet area... And didn't do a single trip outside of 2km of the apartment. The balcony? THE VIEW?!? 😍

The only reason they didn't get a 10/10: there was a patch of mould/mildew in the corners of the shower, and the liquid hand soap ran out in the bathroom, and we couldn't find refills.
