The apartment was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms, and a room to use as an office as well! We booked at the last minute because of an unexpected car issue, and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind while our car was being serviced. It was cozy and inviting and had everything you could possibly need to feel right at home!

Finding the way to enter the apartment was a bit confusing - we didn't realize we needed to pull into the 2nd alley behind the property to access the back gate, but once we were sent the digital guest book with the maps, it all made sense :-). It's worth noting that this is a basement apartment, so expect all the noises on the floor above that go with that. But the place was so spacious and comfortable, and perfectly decorated, it didn't really bother us and our pups at all during the day, and at night, the furnace sound lulled us to sleep.

It's nice that they supplied coffee and had a smart TV. It was an added bonus that there was a washer and dryer and a private parking spot. The unit was modern and seemed to be recently renovated. Even with temperatures in the 80s, the unit stayed pretty cool. Though you're in the basement, there are vaulted ceilings and it feels spacious. You have a private entrance through the back of the house, so you don't cross paths with other people in the house. On paper, this place has a lot of amenities that make the price reasonable. The home has a neighbor on one side, and a track & field for a school on the other. The neighborhood felt very safe, and you're in a great area called Fountain Square.

This unit is actually the basement of a home, not an actual apartment. It doesn't mention that on the listing, so I was caught off guard by that. I gave this listing an 8 assuming someone knows they're booking a basement apartment, otherwise I would have given it a lower rating. They locked the door that leads to the main level of the home, but it's a bit offputting knowing there's people staying in the house above you. Because you are in the basement, you do not have control over the thermostat and you can hear people above you. The only windows are window wells in the bedrooms, and the apartment has a musty smell. I think this is because the basement isn't getting enough fresh air, and there needs to be a dehumidifier down there. Because it's not easy to tell, there isn't a dishwasher, and only a mini fridge, not a standard size fridge. There was also only one coffee mug. I found shards of glass by the mini fridge, the chaise of the couch was bent, and one of the patio chairs in the backyard was broken. Because you're in the basement of a home, you will run into the occasional spider or beetle. Perhaps spraying the home would help with this.
