Lake House Getaway 1 Mile to the Beach

The location was good- short drive to Delaware beaches and also Ocean City. The pool and pickleball courts were nice. Owner did offer late checkout. The staff at the property, especially Merle, were very helpful.

The place was not properly cleaned, a lot of furniture and carpets were worn / not repaired. On top of the high price per night, there was an additional $75 amenity fee to use the pool, pickleball courts for 1-3 days for up to 6 people. However, when only staying for a night and if one only has a small group it is quite expensive.

Place was filthy and very worn out. Lots of things broken including missing smoke detectors. Its obvious the "cleaners" don't know how to clean. There was dog hair everywhere even though it said no pets allowed in the description. When I messaged the owner I was blown off and told go ahead and leave a bad review. The excuse was they have been fully booked and haven't had time to fix things. At almost $500 for 1 night I would expect clean sheets and dry towels. Unfortunately we didn't get either. I wont be back and I hope more people read this because the pictures online are old and not true to the run down place we stayed. The location was the only good thing about this place!
