The Hive - Cosy Studio in Wells City Centre

Great central location. I was worried it might be noisy because of this, but it's tucked around the back so super quiet, aside from hearing the occasional person entering their flat via the kitchen window. Excellent kitchen facilities, comfy bed and a decent shower. Nice welcome pack of biscuits, milk, crumpets and butter. An impressive amount of bee-themed items!

It seemed that the property had some damp problems in the past - the entrance way was a little musty, but the main living area was fine. Make sure you leave the extractor fan on in the bathroom for a bit. It would have been nice to have a flat sheet as well as a duvet as it was quite warm when I stayed. The fridge was a bit noisy, but there's probably not much that can be done about that.

1st couldn't close lockbox. Thanks to Shelia for getting someone to close it. No problem closing it on departure. The Wi-Fi box had all the green lights throughout stay, but internet tv took 50 mins to come on 1first time (no signal) and I didn't find it easy at the start. Decided to just sign in to ITV and had to remember to sign out. Sometimes, it suddenly lost my programme and I had to get back into it. Had problems getting a ring on the hob, then just used the microwave and oven - fine. Kitchen window a bit of a struggle to reach to open and close.

Location was great

Excellent use of a small space. Ultra clean throughout, nicely co-ordinated bee theme, very comfy bed, well equipped kitchen. Very quiet, yet everything is still. central. Easy self check in & out with key code being sent the day beforehand with clear instructions from the host.

Bathroom would benefit from a heated towel rail. Bit disappointed with welcome pack as I don't eat sweets & honeycomb as it was too hard. Would prefer basic pack of eggs, bread, or cake as with other hired places. Bit overpriced for a small place as I have had whole cottages cheaper, however the cental location is very good. Not keen on the plastic plants everywhere. These are mere personal preferences, as this place is very nice & don't be put off by the remarks above as a good job has been done overall by the host.
