The Signal Box at Cliburn Station

Such a fun place to stay and in a peaceful location, yet handy for the surprising amount of places of interest around Penrith. Best use was made of the limited space a signal box affords. Very helpful to have the owners next door to sort out queries. A weekend of rain and gales but the signal box stood firm !

Loved everything about this property, amazing setting and very comfortable quirky accommodation, Gavin and Wendy were fab hosts, even storm isha didn't spoil our stay

Lovely and peaceful location. Not far from the town of Penrith, lots of supermarkets to choose from. Hosts were very warm and friendly. Accommodation had everything we needed. Even a hairdryer and ironing facilities.

Nothing to not like.

Very comfortable and lovely outlook from the lounge. Bed extremely comfortable!

No particular complaints about the property at all though steps were a little wonky into the kitchen !

Wonderful property and location

The Signal Box is fabulous if you are looking for something quirky with a little history to it, it was nice to read about the history of the railway and see some photos of the former station back in its day, to be honest we’d have liked more of that! The place was set out beautifully and great use of a small space has been made, we loved that the main sitting area was upstairs with fabulous views. The place was spotlessly clean with ample facilities. If you are looking for a secluded location, as we were, The Signal Box is perfect. Gavin the owner popped to say hello on our first evening which was lovely and not at all intrusive, he gave us some great advice on the local area, they then left us alone to enjoy our stay, although I’m sure after being jumped over by our two puppies he’d wished he’d never visited 😂😂😂

One slight disappointment was that we thought we had more of the garden to enjoy and for our two pups to exercise the photos show a much larger garden but reality is that this is fenced off and the useable outdoor space is much smaller than it looks on the pics, for most this wouldn’t be an issue but for us the appearance of the outdoor space was one of the reasons we booked

Not a thing to dislike! The whole place was gorgeous and very well kept. We even booked on an extra night!
