Sunset Inn Historic District St. - St. Augustine

When we got there they were nice. Good location. It was clean. Beds comfortable. Staff was great when the first room A/C didn’t work they have us another room no problem.

Could use some updates. Nothing fancy

The room smelled like mold, so I opened the door and the manager told me I couldn't leave them open despite the awful smell. When I arrived, my friend helped me move my bags into the room and the front desk lady followed me in while informing my friend in a rude way that he's not allowed to stay. After telling her he was just helping me move my bags she continued to argue about this matter. Later that night the same staff member checked up on my room again to make sure I didn't have anyone else in my room. When I checked out the next day at noon the staff wouldn't let me into the lobby to wait to be picked up. They said the lobby was closed even though it clearly is open throughout the day.

Bed was comfortable.

Ice machine was located in an inconvenient spot, one of the staff had to be present to access ice. Bathtub drain was plugged.

Room was outdated, but clean. Was just there for a festival and needed a cheap place to stay that was in walking distance to the festivities.

When you pull up to the motel, it's not a pleasant experience. Desperately needs a coat of fresh paint. May be the ugliest outward appearance I've seen on a motel.
