The Log Cabins at The Vu

Fantastic cabin, very clean, spacious and comfortable.

Quiet with relaxed, beautiful surroundings.. the log cabin was much bigger than expected and so amazingly built. It’s quite a sight to take in with the high log ceilings and walls.

From our point of view there wasn’t really anything we disliked

The lodge is very striking outside and inside with high ceilings and lots of space. Set in a beautiful location. The bed is very comfortable. We really enjoyed our breakfast rolls in the morning.

There was a few things that could have been better to make the stay more enjoyable. The bed faces a huge window but the gorgeous view is blocked by a hedge. Also the window was very smeared. I wanted to have a relaxing bath but it didn't look very clean and the shower attachment didn't work. Bring earplugs and a facemask if you're a light sleeper. Theres windows above that doesn't have blinds which filled the room with light as the sun came up. We didn't sleep well because of the noise which we think was the wood either splitting or shifting but there were loud cracks during the night which gave us a fright. Overall the price didn't align with our experience.

As soon as we opened the door we were hit with a strong smell of sewage! Obviously from the bathroom but also into the entire cabin. Shocking amount of dust on furniture. Bedding had some stains. Floor boards are coming away. Not so much of a VU when the windows are filthy. Top windows have no blinds or curtains. Very warm and there were no instructions on how to adjust heating. As we finally left, the door handle came off in my hand!!! Not worth asking price, would definitely not recommend and won't be back. Needs a lot of maintenance and a good maid! (Only got one photo as we didn't know we could add photos whilst leaving a review)
