Valley Inn - Hamilton Ga

It was quaint and had vintage character. It was easy to access, parking was good, and the front desk staff member was pleasant, personable, and accommodating.

Even though it had vintage character, it was obvious that our room had either not been used or cleaned well in awhile. The floors were sticky ( like someone used dirty mop water when cleaning), the bath tub had a large area of dirty soap scum at the head of it ( I bought some bleach/ disinfectant, and cleaned it myself…..including the toilet), and the light and towel fixtures were covered in old, sticky dust. Most of all, the overwhelming smell of moth balls was as I stated, overwhelming.

The food was good

Location was close to FDR state park.

Room smelled of dangerously high levels of naphthalene (moth balls). I was not able to sleep and felt ill after one night. Could not stay the second night.

The room was not really clean. There was mold in the shower tile and the floor in bathroom was filthy. We did not get a serviced by housekeeping even though our stay was 4 days. We had to ask for clean towels and then go get them at the office. I understand these small independent small motels can not function as a large hotel. However the basics should be met if you’re asking over $100 a day. We have stayed there a couple of times before this time, without issue.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. we encountered a health issue that caused us to need to check out before spending the first night of our reservation, and they were quite compassionate.

Something in the room aggravated my partner's asthma and we were unable to stay.

Perfect location for our needs. The place is very 'dated'. Looks like the '70's but doable. Water gets hot. Air works but very loud. Bed's comfy. If I owned, would definitely upgrade the rooms and bathrooms.

Blinds but no curtains so lights streamed in over night making it more difficult to sleep.
