Casa Ilda (Gran Alacant)

Excellent set up for a group of six. We loved the terrace, felt private and secluded, whilst not out of the way. There was a big table and six chairs, a barbecue, whilst there was a small balcony on the double bedroom where we could hang our wet towels. The pool was lovely, accessed through a gate that you have a key for, perfect for cooling down, and the umbrellas provided were a good use. There were no sun loungers so do be aware of that, but we carried the two sun lounger / deck chairs from the property to the pool and also sat on the floor, it didn’t bother us in the slightest! The pool was open from 10am-3pm, then closed from 3 pm until 5pm, then it was open again from 5-11pm. We always left before 3 however so don’t know if it was actually enforced. Pool towels were provided, so there’s not a real need to bring any. Plenty of towels in the property too! There were some shower products also. We did have to purchase some more toilet roll and hand soap, as there were not very many but we were a big group so this is fair enough. Dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid were provided but there was no sponge for actual dishwashing. Plenty of plates, cutlery etc. It was very clean and impressive, with beautiful tiles on the stairs! The air con in the living room was fantastic. However, unfortunately, the bedrooms were only cooled down by ceiling fans. We found this to be somewhat uncomfortable at times as it was very hot! It didn’t keep us awake at night, though in the single room with the pull out bed, it did get very hot. The ceiling fans in the double bedroom was very loud too, and very wobbly. I am a very heavy sleeper though, so it didn’t bother me! I opened the shutters at night to allow cooler air in which helped. It wasn’t a major issue for us and I expect anyone who isn’t from freezing England probably wouldn’t be bothered by it (we’re not used to heat haha!) but is something to keep in mind during warmer months!

This has absolutely nothing to do with the property, but more the area. Upon arrival, we noticed a fair bit of anti tourist graffiti. On the wall of the complex, there were signs saying ‘stop the invasion’ as well as ‘tourists go home’ a little further along the street. This did make us a little wary of eating and drinking in local bars and restaurants. We completely understand the sentiment but it did feel intimidating upon arriving. We didn’t feel intimated by any person / groups of people, but did keep it in mind as we went about our business. Again, it’s absolutely nothing to do with the lovely property. It wasn’t a huge issue either, but for a group of young girls as we are, it was a little unsettling so do keep that in mind. Don’t let it put you off, however! There were a range of nationalities around, some residents, some holidaymakers, and everyone seemed friendly enough.

Muy tranquilo sin ruidos a la hora del descanso. Y las instalaciones de la comunidad muy buenas para el disfrute de familia.

Las camas de la habitación principal eran incómodas se hundian, el colchón se debería de cambiar, y absolutamente aire acondicionado en la parte superior. De resto no le falta detalle, muy bien.

We really liked the apartment – it’s compact yet spacious and comfortable. The quiet area is gated at night, and it has its own restaurants and a pool.
