Modern 1 Bed Apartment w Free Parking & Backyard

Free off road parking!! The apartment itself, especially the spacious living room. It doesn't have a TV but I knew there wouldn't be one and didn't bother me. Has the feel you're staying in someone's actual apartment with knickknacks on the shelves, including a bottle of Cointreau! (I didn't touch it). The host/management team were quick to respond to enquiries. I bought a battery for the smoke detector (see "things I didn't like") and they immediately offered to pay with evidence of a receipt. The house is a large Victorian "brownstone" style house split into apartments. Gorgeous "old feel" to the lobby, while the apartment has a clean modern decor, while retaining the original sash windows and a Juliet balcony.

No hand soap available in kitchen or toilet/bathroom. I feel this is the most basic hygiene requirement. The smoke detector in the ceiling didn't appear to be working and the smoke detector on the side was without a battery. No tea/coffee/milk or welcome pack of any description. Thankfully I had my own but has been driving 3hrs so would have been nice to have a little something on arrival. I think/hope these are just teething problems for a newly let property to iron out. Apartment only accessible via large stone steps. Not suitable for people with reduced mobility or buggies.

The lounge was comfortable

Disappointed with lack of furniture in bedroom, the absence of a TV and random “stuff” cluttering cupboards. Parking anything larger than a Kia Sportage is impossible, due to width and height restrictions. Confirming ID ahead of stay was cumbersome and time consuming.

I liked that the property had high ceiling and large windows, letting in lots of light. It was nicely styled in the living room and the kitchen was clean and had everything you would expect from a rental like teabags and basic cooking equipment and crockery. The hosts were great at answering messages and were helpful.

It could be improved with better vacuuming, because there was quite a bit of hair and dust on the carpets. The bedroom would be better with bedside tables and lamps. Also, directions to find the key box could be improved, because I couldn’t find the keys initially. Lastly, the driveway is narrow and I had to tuck in my wing mirrors in order to drive through and park. It would be worth alerting visitors about this.
