North Carr House - Kingsbarns

It was pleasantly surprising how big the property was with two downstairs lounges and two bathrooms it was in a small village with a pub.

We had a problem with one shower being broken and as we were there for a wedding it was not adequate for eight adults. The holiday company manager has arranged a partial refund and also gave us temporary access to a nearby property for use of its showers.

That one shower was unavailable and the sign suggested this wasn’t new. This left one shower for eight people. There seemed to be an issue with almost all of the the downstairs windows being unable to open. It was very warm weather.

Lovely well equipped kitchen, two comfortable public rooms, ample parking. Very comfortable beds. Within walking distance to very pleasant inn with good meals and within walking distance to beach. Lovely shower in downstairs shower room. Games, jigsaws and toys and books.

Plenty of bath towels but only 2 hand towels unless they are stored somewhere we didn’t find. Should really have hand towels for each room. Upstairs shower (over bath) with warning notice not to use as water too hot! Perhaps water temperature should be turned down a touch or over bath shower replaced for one you can actually use. WiFi password in instructions transcribed inaccurately _ however correct password is behind router. Letters are not ALL in upper case one is in lower case.

Great location for our visit-walking distance to the beach, Cambo and the pub! Parking was fine. The house has a cosy, warm feel and is very well maintained. The four bedrooms were all good sized and airy. The two bathrooms are a plus, particularly the ground floor walk in shower.

Extremely clean; comfortable, nicely decorated, home from home. Close to the beach for walks (and golf) and 15-20 mins from St Andrews. Nice village Inn for meals ;)

Again, with Short Stay St Andrews, they provide one bath towel but no hand towel for face/hair, which is frustrating. I'm assuming it is someone with short hair that has made that decision! Please note: don't scrimp on the essentials!! All females in our party commented on the fact that hand towels (including for bathroom hand drying) were not provided!? Supplying two hand towels for the bathrooms is a hygiene consideration. Why would a guest want everyone to use their bath towel to dry their hands after visiting the loo! Come on!
