Newly Renovated 2 Bed Cottage - Long Stay Reduce Rate

Very clean and nicely setup apartment with good beds. Nice small garden. Location is good near town center

The house was nicely decorated, beds were comfortable, the bedrooms were of a good size and decor. Similarly, the lounge and dining room were comfortable, nicely furnished. The house was also clean inside and well presented. The house is conveniently located in the heart of Windsor, walking distance to the town centre.

There are a number of points: 1. The house is situated approximately 50M from the road, down a pedestrian only alleyway, access with suit cases and bags was inconvenient with inadequate street lighting or lighting on the exterior of the property; 2. Parking was offered (with daily charge) but this was all on road. The surrounding streets are extremely busy with very limited parking spaces and I had to part 300M away from the house, and carry my suit cases and bags over that distance; 3. The property managers said there was a rear access to the house for loading and unloading. However, there was no parking available on the neighbouring street to utilise the rear entrance; 4. The advert said pets were welcome and charges 'may' apply; in the event I was charged 100 pounds for 2-nights for 2 medium size dogs. In my view this was excessive and double what I normally pay in quality hotels across UK and Europe; 5. There was very low water pressure in the cold tap for the bathroom and kitchen, which was inconvenient for personal washing and kitchen cleaning; 6. The front garden was very untidy, was not maintained with overgrown bushes some of which had grown out over the entrance path making access/egress unpleasant as well as looking unsightly; 7. The key safe is inconveniently located close to the ground. I had to get down on my knees, on wet ground, to be able to read the code and access the front door key; 8. There is a steep staircase. Although my family was able to use it ok, it would not be suitable for elderly, infirm or young children;

No Hot water, not even luke warm as the boiler was broken

Perfect location within walking distance of shops and the castle. Cosy, homely cottage and it was very clean when we arrived. Calm area, close to green areas and playgrounds. The host is quick to respond to requests.

The radiator in the dining area and in one of the bedrooms kept turning on even though it was 30 degrees outside and inside, and we did not manage to turn it off.

Location was good. Kitchen and dining area nice.

No wardrobes in bedroom (one had a tiny rack), also missing bins in bedroom. Heavy winter duvets on beds in middle of a heatwave and no extra sheets provided. Shower felt like we were being washed under a watering can it was that weak. Couldn’t get TV to work and when we contacted the owner he got back to us ten minutes before check out to advise we needed to connect a fire stick! No instructions provided for this! Heating comes on in the middle of the night in summer. Back yard not nice to sit out in as has mop buckets and brushes strewn across it. Stairs are dangerous. Overall basic and disappointing stay.

Heated well in cold weather and plenty of hot water

Shower was useless, bathroom was cold, pot wash tap broke and microwave didn’t work when we were trying to food prep, a lack of parking and cost for on street parking was at an additional cost which at the cost of stay was an absolute liberty

Fantastic location, we could walk to everything in a few minutes. The castle was 10 minutes away and within 5 minutes we had access to multiple shops and restaurants, all on foot. We had everything we needed in the cottage for our 3 day stay and we enjoyed the experience of living in a house typical of the area rather than a hotel chain that we could stay in anywhere. Lots of little personal touches made our stay very comfortable.

The stairs were a little steep inside. This wasn't a problem for us but might be if you had small children. I was a little nervous about the parking (resident scratch card) but it was actually very easy and we were always able to find a space.
