Great village location, very peaceful. Plenty of space in the apartment. Good facilities. Easy access and parking. Food in the pub below was excellent. Staff are very welcoming and helpful.

Nothing to dislike

"Fantastic stay and exceeded expectations. Would stay there again definately."

9.0

Large comfortable apartment with splenty of space and was excellent for the dog with a spacious field to walk . Lovely location and staff were very friendly. The apartment is above a pub and this was excellent. It was quiet and very relaxing.

Matress could have been a bit more comfortable but it was acceptable

"Disappointing, unclean apartment, not enough bedding and not able to contact host"

2.0

Easy to access with keys in a key box

Unfortunately this was quite a disappointing stay. The apartment smelt so strongly of chip fat from the pub below. On booking I had requested to use the sofa bed as we were 2 friends/colleagues using the place, but there was no sofa bed which had been stated on the website and no bedding left out for this. I tried calling and texting Nicole but heard nothing back for our entire 2 night stay so we never had any bedding provided for the “sofa bed”, which ended up being a futon we finally found in a cupboard. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, with hairs on the soap, dirty surfaces and used sanitary towels in the bin. The whole place needs a good deep clean, it just all felt a bit grubby. Basic things like tea towels were not provided. Microwave was dirty. Felt quite disappointing all round.

"So close to London yet a world away. The location was tranquil and so very quiet at night."

We loved our stay at this cosy flat above a pub north of Ipswich. All the staff that we interacted were welcoming, friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions.

We liked everything!

"Our stay was spoilt by uncomfortably cold first night and untidy entry, very basic facilities."

4.0

Bar was nice and cosy and good meals. Very friendly staff.

Loft was very cold on our first night. Storage heaters were cold on arrival but warmed up later. No emergency exit should there be a fire in the pub kitchen, Fuse box was not covered with cables exposed. Continuous noise from outside extractor fan.

"First impressions spoiled a 4 night stay in the loft"

5.0

The village was quiet, & ideal for visiting the area. The bedroom and lounge were cosy and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful

The private entrance to the rear door takes you passed empty cooking oil drums & rubbish boxes. Adjacent to this door is a refrigerator compressor which runs almost continually day & night. We were told ‘you cannot hear it upstairs’, but despite closing the internal doors it can be heard drumming away in the background, especially in the dead of night. As our guide led us up the stairs we saw the uncovered electricity distribution board for all of the pub facing us. We were told that in the event of a trip going a member of staff will need to enter to re-set it. This indeed happened on Sunday morning banging on the door resulted in our first morning lay-in being disturbed. This flat is obviously a fairly recent conversion in this ‘500 year old pub’ – this term somehow being used to dismiss any failings. There are aspects which need finishing / improving. The kitchenette has only a microwave thus limiting self-catering options. There are bare essentials in terms of hardware – the staff were helpful in providing missing items, but no cereal bowls or tea towels as a start had to be asked for. No chopping board, sharp knives, bottle opener or corkscrew, or containers in which food could be heated in the microwave. None of the electrical appliances had any evidence that they have been PAT tested for electrical safety. The shower room has no light over the small sink, so shaving is by memory only. The hot water heater only produces limited tepid water before it goes cold, so washing up in the kitchen requires boiling a kettle. Fortunately, the shower is electric. The banister rail felt sticky to the touch, as with the door to the lounge by the door catches which was stained also. On the glass topped TV table were sticky glass rings. There is no full length mirror, just two small ones lent against the bedroom wall. The TV is streamed service only. Requires more attention to cleaning. We feel overcharged for what we received.

"Comfy stay in a beautiful historic building"

8.0

The building was beautiful, there was so much history and the pub was really lovely too. The staff were 10/10 fantastic. So helpful and friendly. The bed was comfy!

These are meant to be constructive cos I know you’re just starting out - a full length mirror somewhere would be really good, maybe at the bottom of the stairs. A light above the bathroom mirror would also help. The WiFi wasn’t great so we couldn’t stream anything on the tv. But those are so minor things compared to how lovely the place is

"We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again. The staff were all very lovely."

We only ate Dinner in the Moon and Mushroom and the food was lovely, and the staff really lovely too. We loved how all the locals came in and everyone knew each other.

Every thing was fine.
