JBR Tourist Inn - Port Barton

After another place suddenly canceled our booking after traveling 4 hours there and with basically nowhere else to sleep (Marianne), we booked with JBR and they immediately took us in. They were so welcoming and nice to us. Id 100% book here again next time im in Port Barton!

We stayed here for one week as a family with three children. The rooms were spacious and had enough beds for all of us, which made our stay comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and assisted with arranging tours and transportation, which we really appreciated. We felt very welcome throughout our stay. The room had both air conditioning and a fan, which helped maintain a comfortable temperature. The location was also very convenient, close to everything. It’s also near the beach, although we were told that swimming is not recommended due to jellyfish.

The towels were very rough and felt more like blankets, making them difficult to dry off with. The water pressure in the shower was quite low, and there was often only cold water. This was manageable for us, but still worth mentioning. Housekeeping was limited—we only had the room cleaned once, and that was after we asked. Since we went to the beach every day, sand built up quickly, and it would have been nice with more frequent light cleaning. The mattresses should be replaced, as we suspect there were bed bugs. We all experienced itching and rashes after sleeping in the beds, which was very uncomfortable. We informed the staff, and they said they would change the mattresses, so hopefully this has been resolved. It may be a good idea for future guests to check the mattresses upon arrival.

La comodidad de la ubicación, los trabajadores son una maravilla siempre dispuestos a ayudarte y hacerte la vida más fácil en la zona. Puedes alquilar motos, te organizan el bus de salida o de llegada desde o hacia los aeropuertos y siempre con una sonrisa y muy amables. Les deseo lo mejor a esa gente !!!

Las habitaciones son los que son, no esperes nada más allá.

The location is great, very central in Port Barton but quiet.

The family rooms are basic, no TV and no decorations

Great for value and very good location too. You pay for what you’re getting and we had no issue :) nice area to dry our dive gear, walk distance to the beach, restaurants and bars, plenty of drinkable water available as well, good aircon and fan in the room, we had no issues :)

Bed is a bit hard, can be a bit uncomfortable, but passable for sure :)

The location of the accommodation was nice.

When I arrived at the accommodation, they informed me that the hotel is overbooked and that they would offer me a room in another location. They mentioned they couldn’t show me any pictures of the new accommodation as it wasn’t online yet, and it was way further from the center of Port Barton, sounded all a bit shady to me. However, in the meanwhile a group of 3 guests arrived for check-in after me and they did get a room. After confronting the staff they mentioned that because I was alone they couldn’t offer me a room. After a discussion, all of a sudden they did have a room for me, which was horrible. It wasn’t anything like the room I booked and there was a huge hole in the bathroom wall which is why the neighbors could see me showering. So overall, staff wasn’t helpful and state of the room isn’t like in the pictures.
