Pata de Perro Bacalar

Good location in the centre of the square. Rooms were comfortable enough and only share a bathroom with one other room. Had access to kitchen facilities and free water. Not a bad price

Hostel staff were not overly friendly or helpful. In the early hours you could hear music blaring from one of the bars. The room was a bit dark and dingy.

If you want to be near Centro, whichever town of Mexico you're traveling in, you can't get much closer than this. I enjoy being near the hustle and bustle of any town I stay in. If noise isn't you're thing, then maybe look elsewhere. It was an easy walk to the beach clubs, restaurants, bars, tours and the Lagoon itself. And that's what I go for when I travel.

For some reason, the walkway from the studio unit I stayed in, which is on the ground floor, out towards the park where the Bacalar sign is located, was always wet. There was never not water on the ground between the two buildings walking out of the unit. Also, one night the power went out. I just so happened to stay in this evening and there was no way the employee whom was working that night would of known if I was in my room or not. As I laid in the dark on my phone, I could hear keys rustling at the door knob. I jumped from my bed and opened the door before they could get in, startling a male worker. He said something in Spanish asking about the lights (my Spanish isn't too great) and left smiling. I have know idea why he needed to get in my room when the power was out. Annoyed me a bit.

We were in a suite and it was gorgeous, everything. Good bed, enormous bathroom, top kitchen, good wifii, good a/c. Location couldnt be better.

Everything was perfect

The Hostal is perfectly located in the middle of Bacalar. We really liked the small kitchen to cook our own breakfast. The room was very clean and pretty big. The staff war very friendly and helpfull. I forgot something in my room and the found it after looking for a pretty long time - so thank you very much :)

There is only one bathroom with one toilette and one shower. This led to waiting times a lot as you share the bathroom with others.

Brilliant location. Staff were very helpful. Spotlessly clean including shared bathroom. Could rent bikes for a very reasonable price. Discount for very nice restaurant attached.

We missed the natural light as our room had no window.
