"I would love to stay here again!"

10.0

This location, property, structure and facilities were amazing. The underfloor heating downstairs was phenomenal in the winter and everything about this venue just screamed authentic rustic farm house where i proposed to my partner. The area is great for rural treks. The owner Andrew was so helpful in organising parts of the proposal as we had discussed before hand. I honestly don't have much to fault with this property. It was super cosy!

Nothing major, the bed could be a little more comfy, although its a rustic barn house, it could be cleaned slightly more with all the cobb webs up on the high ceilings. The bathroom setting is fantastic but could maybe do with a little colour change. The biggest issue we faced was the hot water runs out! this was very frustating as we started the hot tub/bath after the proposal and it was ice cold which did kill the mood if im honest.

Wanted something special for my husbands birthday. We were both delighted. Excellant conversion. Very spacious. Amazing bathroom and very comfy bed.

A couple of side tables in the lounge would be a good idea ( plenty of space for them) to put wine or tea. Be aware of narrow lanes to property.

"Relaxing break amongst the vines"

10.0

The location meant that we were 'away from it all' over the New Year. We enjoyed the peaceful location and the well equipped and tastefully decorated Oast House. Plenty of hot water supplied the generous bath and magnificent shower. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.

The Oast House is a large building with high ceilings. Despite this, the lounge area was cosy and relaxing. We did find the rest of the house a little chilly though (it was -2 degrees outside). Blankets and a good duvet kept us warm overnight.

"Ultimate comfort combining oast house chic with a vineyard setting"

10.0

The Oast House has been designed and decorated beautifully. The space feels opulent whilst remaining homely, and the surrounding vineyard and countryside enhances the whole experience. We'll definitely book to stay again - highly recommended.

The roads leading to the vineyard are very tight with few passing points and many potholes.

The property definitely had the wow factor and was in a stunning location. A really good sized property with everything you needed and great walks around the vineyard and to Selbourne x

The under floor heating was very hot under foot downstairs.

"Extremely special and tranquil stay in a stunning and unusual house!"

10.0

The house is unique, spacious and homely. The hosts were lovely and responsive. I particularly loved the bedding which was a high quality feather duvet with feather pillows and lovely high thread count cotton sheets. All the laundry smelled fantastic and there were bath sheets instead of bath towels so lovely and big. The bath is gorgeous- plenty wide enough for two adults and has jets to be a jacuzzi bath (though it is quite noisy when on due to the height of the ceilings and therefore how echoey the place is). We got engaged in the woods on a walk to a local pub and overall had an extremely special couple of nights away, could have easily stayed there several more!

The only thing is that the upstairs can get very cold, particularly the bedroom, as the downstairs has underfloor heating but not upstairs and the ceilings are very tall. We did request for the overall heating in the house to be turned up and Andrew and Emily happily obliged, but the bedroom remained pretty chilly for the whole time just because of the space set up. There are hot water bottles though in drawers which is a lovely touch.

"Disappointing in ALL respects, tatty and unclean."

1.0

The location was convenient, BUT - car access is difficult and will cause anxieties for inexperienced drivers due to very (very) narrow single track roads to reach the property.

Disappointing in every respect, start to finish. A three-night stay, we are very familiar with the area, frequently use hotels and holiday lets in the area. This trip was last-minute and ‘the oast house’ had availability plus the proximity to our family in the area looked good/convenient. On arrival the place was a dirty tatty shocker, dead flies and wasps in every room and every windowsill [see images, these are ALL at different spots in the property], filthy windows, including muddy dog prints [see images] and obviously not vacuumed or ‘mopped’ in any proper fashion. My first task? – lifting the tatty threadbare rug in the lounge to carry it outside and shake off the muck incl obvious pieces of food [cake/biscuit] from the prior guests! Disgusting. The pattern continued with stained tatty furniture [see images] and a ‘welcome pack’ consisting of a disposable dishcloth, a micro bottle of detergent and a pathetic tiny sponge, plus a single tea towel [noting that this was a three-night stay]. But to cap all of that – heating! The owner controls the heating entirely via his phone app, with the property booklet [in the kitchen] stating that the temp is kept/held at 23 degrees. This is plainly nonsense and untrue. Each day we had to message the owner to ask for the heating to be put on ‘please’, with obdurate answers about ‘it should be all OK, but I will check [the house was cold throughout, no areas were ‘on’], then messaged to say he had ‘turned it up’. Presumably he felt we should be grateful because he went out of his way to ask me the following day if it was ‘all good and toasty in there’ for us. Next night – same again. It is obvious that the owner uses an overlay timer to put the [‘kept at 23 degrees’] system on/off at times which HE chooses. The guest has NO local control of the warmth in this property whatsoever.
