The Pines Guesthouse - new re-list

Beautifully crafted building... best view from a shower I've ever had. Lovely deck and hot tub, comfy chairs, well appointed kitchen and quiet location. Easy Uber or taxi to Arrowtown. The visit from friendly dog was a bonus.

A Weber on the deck would have been the "cherry on top".

Loved the outside table & chairs with the lovely view. The only thing it needed was an umbrella due to the weather being so stunning but it was just ptoo hot to sit outside.

Very clean and in a lovely setting. Wonderful view, including from the shower and jacuzzi. All modern appliances. Comfortable beds.

Wasn’t very cosy. No pictures on the walls or colourful furnishings. We couldn’t operate the snazzy stove. No signs for the accommodation and no instructions for how to use the various appliances.

The property was nicely furbished as the owners used to live in the property while they built their house. Their very cute pup came to visit!

The house was confusing to find, when we pulled up at a house under renovation with diggers, cars and tradies around we drove away thinking we had the wrong place (we came on holiday to get away from our reno!) We asked someone regarding the property and it was the Host Stu, he was really nice, we asked if the spa was working he said yes and helped us take the lid off and the spa had lots of grit all over the bottom. Once in the house I noticed the kitchen drainer had coffee stains on it, I went into the bedroom the bedside tables were really dusty and had hair on, so I cleaned them, then I had the awful thought that the house hadn't been cleaned from the last guests, even though the bed was made, I pulled the sheets back and there was body hair on both sides of the bed!!! Hubby helped me strip the bed and I put everything into the washer machine. Even the washer machine draw where you put the liquid was mouldy. The house felt like it just needed a really good clean. Where the spa is situated the Hosts house looks over it, all full sized windows which felt abit odd. Also the living room/kitchen is combined and not very big, there wasn't enough room for a family of four to sit comfortably and watch tv. In the kitchen there was literally 4 of everything, so if the dishwasher was on and you needed something like a fork/plate, you had to stop the dishwasher to get one out! There was only the absolute basics in the house, we felt like even 2 nights there was to long.
