MAISON MK Adults ONLY - Music Riad

Set in the heart of the Medina, this quaint Riad is a haven from the busyness of the Medina. It only has 5 guest rooms and focuses mainly on the rooftop bar and restaurant, which are superb. It also offers a Spa and Wellness, which is one of the reasons we booked to spend 11 nights there. The best thing about MaisonMk is the staff, who are all exceptional. It is also spotlessly clean. Our friends joined us after the first three nights, having spent the previous three nights in neighbouring El Fenn. We were primarily looked after by Hamid, who left after a couple of days, then Imad and Mouad, who went above and beyond for us, which was commendable as they are both new members of staff. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss initially, but Mouad worked tirelessly to get it right, which he did. He also went to the pharmacy on a Sunday to get some medication for us. We asked the Chef to prepare a dining experience for the 4 of us, which was phenomenal and the setting was beautiful.

There is loud music in the tiny reception area and different music on the rooftop, which both tend to meet in the middle, where the guest rooms are. It started around 11.00 and went on until Midnight most nights. I think the speakers must be above Room 2 where we stayed. We asked for the music to be turned down late afternoon after returning from days out, which it initially was, then someone would turn it up again. We gave up. It came as a shock to our friends after the tranquil atmosphere of El Fenn. However, if you like loud music, this is the place for you. The Spa & Wellness was closed for the duration of our stay. We were not informed of this beforehand. The pool is the small one in the photos, so not exactly a “swimming” pool as stated. We were told we could go to a nearby Spa, which is hardly the point. The stairs are a bit precarious and uneven. Problems with hot water intermittently.

The Riad is very well maintained and cozy. We were always greeted in a friendly manner at all times. Even special requests were fulfilled without any problems. The rooftop terrace and the kitchen are really good even if rather in the upper price segment. The dinner in the desert we booked through maisonMK was in an impressive location with a very large pool. We couldn't have asked for a better guide for the one we also booked. He was really great! Very well German speaking. Extremely helpful and knew his way around. It was definitely worth it to have him.

our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I struggled just because it had no windows or natural light so I would choose a different room next time.

great central location clean and tidy food was very good however the best thing about the hotel is the tall young man who appears to be ever present and does everything with a smile and great willingness I think his name is Hamed or Hamsim

the stairs are quite steep and require better lighting, it is advertised as having a pool however it is unusable.

I absolutely love everything about the property especially the staff who were very helpful. my flight was delayed and the receptionist ( hamid) and the driver waited for me until 1:30 am. he carried my luggages and served me tea and explain everything about the neighborhood clearly even though it was so late. the breakfast was always good and the location is just perfect 🤩. I really enjoyed my stay. many thanks to hamid and to the rest of the staff. I will be back.

Hotel and staff were amazing !! On street Taxis , would be so nice if they were controlled and had meters so u do not need to haggle

Excellent Communication with Corine prior to Travelling from Casablanca to Marrakech for pick up from Train Station, On arrival owner and all staff very efficient and extremely helpful with knowledge of area while serving fabulous food and drinks on top terrace, Suite we stayed in was very comfortable fabulous Raid

Everything was fine stairs are slightly narrow winding in Raid but not a Issue staff will assist, If you organise Taxi from Hotel request baggage handler from area to assist MK Maison porter as alleyways are typical Marrakech.

The room doesn't match the description on the website. When I booked this room on booking.com website, the room was described as a suite with a patio or terrace and having a view, claim, completely false. This room only has a small window overlooking on the inside courtyard and if is to be open, then everyone can look inside . This room also supposed to come with: a bottle of sparkling wine, fruits, a coffee machine,desk, telephone, iPod dock, slippers, Things which were missing from our room. I would also like to mention that this room doesn't have a television and the most shocking of all is that the bathroom area is separated from the rest of the room by a half wall and there was a curtain as a door. Noticing this on our arrival I made complaint and the property owner offer to give me a 10% discount with a condition of cancelling the reservation on booking.com which meant that she wasn't gonna pay the commission to booking.com which is probably around 20% and me being unable to give review on the website, so it was unacceptable for me. Then the manager said that don't worry, "I will speak to her and see what we can do so you will be happy". On our departure i ask again, what have they decided to do to make things right and the answer was that they will leave it as it was and I have to pay the full amount as it was booked. To make things worse and to Shut me up, she was threatening to call police and prevent me from leaving the country. She also accused me of asking her to make love to me , a complete lie, the woman doesn't speak English and I don't speak French so we only communicated through someone else. I was there with my wife celebrating her birthday and the above mentioned turnd our vacation into a nightmare.
