"We would consider staying again with some updates to the cleaning, bathroom and fragrances."

7.0

The location was great. Parking on the street in front of unit was always available (we were there Thursday-Sat) The "old historic" feeling of the building and inside the unit was cool and the history write-up was a plus. The Beds were soft and the couch & living room furniture were very comfortable. Jake was very quick to answer my questions and promptly help with issues in the unit.

I knew that it was an upstairs unit but didn't realize it would take 4 flights of steep stairs to get up to door of unit. (the right stairs need lights - very dangerous in the dark) The Bathroom was cool and "historic" with the claw-foot bathtub, but the towels smelled like mildew, were old and some were stained. Had to ask Jake to come bring new towels and fix the very loose toilet seat and fix the window that wouldn't close tight and was letting in cold air. No heater in the bathroom made it very cold with the tile floors. When I asked for a space heater, I was told he didn't have any available. The Shower curtain had pink mold and needs to be replaced. The bathroom mirror is probably the original (very historic and cool looking) but so foggy isn't really usable. Impossible to put in contacts and put on make-up. The kitchen offered very basic supplies and no drinking or wine glasses. Finally, the owner should consider replacing the highly scented laundry detergent and dryer sheets with fragrance-free. The Tide smell was overwhelming when we first walked into the unit. The laundry room, just off the main hallway, doesn't have a door on it.
