The Heart of Hahei - Hahei Holiday Home

On arrival we thought we had the wrong property as the advertisement photo on booking.com shows this place as being well maintained. Instead we observed a " tired , faded decking " with overgrown grass all around property. At the back of property , the decking had weeds coming through and garden furniture needed some TLC, as could have been cleaned ( bird poo !). Understand you cant help birds , but surely the role of a cleaner is to double check everything before guests check in. Inside cleaning standard not great ( other reviews have said same). Front entrance ; as we walked in we had to step over a large black umbrella , a trip hazard if arriving in dark. When we tried to use umbrella on front patio, this umbrella does not work as the fixture on the umbrella stand was clearly broken so umbrella cannot be secured upright. Inside the property is homely ( a positive ), and kitchen very well equipped but again, needs some repair as there was one cupboard door missing off units from saucepan cupboard. We loved the size of the place it is huge , 4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms and comfy bed . We stayed in the bedroom with an ensuite , and this was lovely. However suggestion to owner, would appreciate if your clothes hanging on back of ensuite door (that were not clean ) were removed as little off putting for guests!. We loved that the property was 2 mins walking distance around corner to beach and thoughtful gesture to leave us deck chairs and umbrella to use on beach too. To summarise , this bungalow as so so much potential , and is homely , just everywhere needs a revamp as walls in bathroom had chips which had been touched up with polyfilla but no paint. Outside is unkempt sadly and it feels like the place has been not maintained.

1) Photo of property on booking. Com is inaccurate , as is garden overgrown with long grass around decking and weeds on decking. Nothing like the modern lovely photo on advert. 2) No ironing board anywhere ? 3) oven initially didnt work so my husband checked the Gas cylinder outside that was connected and this was EMPTY. Luckily he found another cylinder next to it that was HALF full so he attached the connector to this , then oven worked. This should have been sorted by cleaner prior to check in , not guests ?! 4) Very large umbrella dumped at entrance door ( inside as you arrive - had to step over this). We moved it . Our mobility ok but if it was older person staying that would be a trip hazard. 5) kitchen : Cupboard door missing ( broken previously by other guests ?) why not replaced as this is easily done ?. 6) Umbrella stand at front broken ( on arrival like this )
