Shepherd's Hut @ The Old Forge Glamping

We stayed for new years eve and got a bottle of pressco on arrival which was a class touch. There is no electricity in the hut itself which I actually liked, it added to the authenticticity of it, a stove lighting in the corner and candles lighting the room, it was a really chilled and romantic atmosphere. Great to escape the world for a while. There is a communal room nearby with power source where you can charge phones or whatever. The owners dog was awesome too! Everytime I left the hut he was nearby and came over and walked with you to the communal area and back to the hut.. he was like a porter 🤣 .. overall really enjoyed it and cool experience. Also got hot water bottles for the room which was nice , but once the stove gets going there is plenty of heat.. don't load up too much ! 😅

The cabin itself was pretty clean except there was a number of dead flies around and behind the shutters so maybe a little more attention around that would be beneficial. There is facilities to make your own food but a breakfast bap served in the morning would be unreal .. oh and some solar panel lighting around the steps into the entrance of the hut would be good because without the torch it is pitch black outside and in the rain the steps are really slippy 🫣

Absolutely amazing place to go Glamping all year round, the hosts were so lovely. The pictures on site don’t do it justice, the views are to die for!

Had a lovely time here ☺️ fabulous views and met some lovely people. Accommodation was very clean and cosy. Great communication with host..and just a lovely change from the normal breaks away..would definitely recommend. Thank you
