The breakfast was amazing - so much fresh fruit and a beautiful continental selection. Plus a fabulous full English or full vegetarian with halloumi. It was all delicious and a much nicer breakfast than anywhere else we've stayed.

The room was really comfortable and nothing wrong with it, but it somehow seemed a little tired. I can't quite work out why, and the beds were really comfortable and nice for my daughter to have a proper bed instead of a sofa bed in the room. Maybe it was the posters that were printed from a printer and put in a plastic sleeve? I'm not sure - but it really wasn't bad and we'll definitely return!

The staff were outstanding! The owner even gave us transportation back to Newcastle. Friendly and super efficient.

Lovely room. Wonderful atmosphere in restaurant with happy attentive staff. Set in beautiful, quiet grounds and close to city.

Easy to find friendly staff. Good location

A good location away from the busy town centre with ample parking and cheap EV chargers (I got virtually a full charge for £17 during my stay). Staff were very friendly and the food was really good, particularly breakfast. Shower in room was instantly hot and powerful. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Flimsy shower curtain allowed water to spill out of shower and onto floor because the shower was so powerful but only a minor issue in what was otherwise a perfect visit

Booked a one night stay while builders had taken over my house. Arrived later on so didn't get to try dinner but breakfast was so good, a really nice selection. The bed was so comfortable and the rooms were so quiet I thought the hotel had been empty until seeing other guests at breakfast. The outside spaces looked so pretty especially the fairy lights. Don't live far away but already looking forward to coming back for a meal and a night away with my daughter and dogs as they will love the outside space.

One of the doors on the shower was a little loose but didn't affect use. Only mentioning it so the hotel is aware. The bathroom and room were exceptionally clean.
