The Walnut Wagon in the heart of Mells.

Excellent property in an excellent location and perfect for my needs. Loved Mells and really appreciated the maps of the area provided.

Can't think of anything at all that I didn't like.

Quiet setting, beautifully presented.

What a beautifully charming property. Annie is lovely and provided more than we needed, with lovely home comforts like fresh eggs and milk from her home. We stayed here as we wanted to visit longleat for my husbands birthday but wanted to be away from the crowds. Only a 20 minute drive from longleat through scenic country lanes it really is a cosy staycation in the countryside. The log burner was a homely touch in the kitchen area but there’s central heating throughout if that’s your thing too. We’ll definitely be back in the summer to make the most of the bbq and outdoor areas.

Could possibly benefit from a television in the bedroom

I booked this for my parents, who had the following to say: The words 'charming' and 'bijou'  give no clue to the elegance and style of the Walnut Wagon. Comfort is the keyword. Attention to detail is in every nook. Tucked into a pretty corner of the garden, it is a haven for small birds and for a magisterial Pheasant who brings his six silent children to pluck delicately at the grass for treats.  And there were treats for us too: like the eggs from Mells' Belles; the home-made apple juice, the 'grape juice' (Malbec!),and the Walnut liqueur.  The village shop is just a step away and the Talbot Inn (great food) a brief stroll. If poetry is your thing you may visit Sassoon's grave in the churchyard, though he may not have composed the tactful verses on the  shower-room door... The Walnut Wagon is the best place we have ever stayed. Treat yourselves! Órla and Ted.

The Walnut Wagon is an absolute delight. The wagon itself is so cleverly designed, comfortable with amazing attention to detail. The hosts are attentive but not intrusive. Really appreciated the care package! Plums, eggs satsumas and a selection of snacks. We had a wonderful time. Thank you so much - we’ll be back

Bed was too hard for my bad back

It is hard to put into words what a lovely spot this is. The perfect complement to the village itself, which has a fairytale beauty that I only thought came in books. The hosts are attentive but not intrusive, and have catered to all possible needs. There's privacy and comfort but you're in no way remote - it's a very short walk to the brilliant shop. Is it cheap? Not really! Was it worth it? For a special occasion, and for the beauty of the location, it's hard to fault.

No complaints at all.

Excellent situation for our wedding venue that we were attending.. 5 minute walk from St Andrews Church and Mells Tithe Barn. The property was everything that we needed, lovely comfy bed, clean bathroom and quirky kitchen with log burner. Annie was very welcoming upon our arrival.

There was nothing that we didn’t like about the property.
