"An extemely comfortable, well equipped (air conditioned!) house with beautiful views a short drive from the bustling sma"

9.0

Very comfortable for us two + dog, well equipped, no expense spared, we especially appreciated the effective air conditioning during a heatwave! Handy parking spot, short drive to Machynlleth. Wonderful views across estuary. A lovely safe walk (with dog) of about a mile alongside railway line, eventually crossing to Dovey Station for rail trips to further places. Longer walk available up hill behind cottage.

Limited outside space (shale covered), quite close to road. Cottage not easily accessed from a narrow pavement up a few shale-covered steps - not recommended for those unsteady on their feet, and keeping control of a lively dog might also be an issue. The road is not always busy, but some lorries do thunder past.

"Very nice property. Great views across road. Rather dangerous access"

7.0

Nicely equipped , well thought out. Spacious. Very good shower

Only the access on very busy road. Pavement very narrow and need to turn and access steps while traffic approached fast around an almost blind bend. We had a lot to carry in and out and negotiated this approach often. Very nerve wracking.

"Exceptional"

9.0

Beautiful house, beautiful clean bathroom, super comfy beds and loved the projector! Well located for local restaurants and to travel around to some of the towns and/or beaches.

There wasn't any firewood for the fire, and only four coffee pods for two people for a three day stay. Otherwise, perfect!

"Amazing stay don’t want to leave"

9.0

Beautiful cottage with beautiful views, so cosy, comfortable with so many amenities. big comfy sofa with cinema projector, a beautiful woodland walk just behind cottage, lots of games already there. In the kitchen you have a cupboard full of spices plus every glass, bowl, plate, mug or utensil you would need. the fridge with ice machine on front is perfect. The bedrooms are beautifully designed, so cosy and the views are even better from there. Bathroom is lovely, shower is amazingggggg and has some toiletries there for you. Hosts are so responsive and helpful, offered us an extra night for discounted price summer house would be amazing in warmer weather, we did wrap up and sit there in front of the fire. Overall a really amazing weekend would recommend to anyone at any time of the year and hopefully them few bits could be sorted and it would be very nearly perfect.

There were a few negatives but it wouldn’t have changed my mind on staying there as I would still absolutely come back, but some are very easy fixes. As people mention (and the description) there is a busy main road directly in front of the property, the noise didn’t bother us in the slightest and it does get quieter in the evening. just need to be really careful with dogs or children when leaving. i do think a fenced off area and gate would be a bit better. Unfortunately the fire in the lounge was unable be used due to a fault, we were informed in the morning before we arrived and i know there was nothing that could have been done but just a shame is all. plenty warm enough anyway with heating but would have been cosy. The lighting in the downstairs cottage is fairly dim. The wall lights in the lounge and kitchen could have brighter bulbs in, as well as a couple of the bedside lamps clearly needed new bulbs too. the couple of lanterns in the living room needed new batteries. and the wine fridge doesn’t work. I do think these are easy fixes, i also think the fire would’ve made a big difference to lighting in the lounge. This isn’t to do with the property at all but if you’re wanting to use the train just note that sign does not mean the station is there it is a mile walk away😂

"Had the best time making priceless family memories, loved property & movie nights with big screen!"

10.0

The front door didn’t shut securely without locking it which is unsafe for dogs/young children. A gate/fence at the front would finish property off perfectly for dogs/young children. Noisy road but that can’t be helped; such a shame as the view is just beautiful!

"Cosy Hideaway"

9.0

The house had beautiful views. Everything we needed for our stay. Local facilities and beaches close. House was very cosy and loved having a coffee in the hideaway. We had a fabulous roast dinner at Brigands Inn. There's a fantastic TV screen. Great for copying up and watching a movie.

The only downside was that you can't walk to a local pub.
