The bathroom was clean

The location was terrible , up 60 odd stairs on a alleyway that had a continuous stream on noisy drunks until the early hours of the morning. Even closing the shutters over the double glazed windows did not alleviate the noise. The alley smelt like cat or human urine. Apparently over 1000 people per day during summer walk up this alley The bed was an uncomfortable memory foam thing with a memory foam topper that gave no support We could not find any information about any appliance in the apartment. The stairs to the bedroom where narrow and dangerous with no handrail The furniture downstairs was dirty old and disgusting. All needed a good clean if not a replacement The photos do not really reflect the quality of the apartment

Alles was prima voor ons verblijf van 2 Nathan. Houd rekening met de vele treden die je op moet naar het appartement. Uitdagend met koffers maar ook na een avondje stappen downtown

The stairs. Both on the street and in the house itself. Outside there are approximately 75 stairs to climb to get to the house, and inside the stairway to the bedroom is narrow with 2 low ceilings that require you to duck under to continue up or down. This is not a property for anyone with mobility problems.

This place is exactly what you hope to find when booking a short stay and almost never do. Tucked away in the historic centre, it manages to feel peaceful and completely removed from the usual noise of the city at night, which made a huge difference. The house itself is clearly looked after with real care and attention. From the moment you walk in there is a noticeable freshness and a subtle, clean scent that sets the tone straight away. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared rather than just arranged for guests. The bedding, linen and towels are all of a very high standard and add to that sense of comfort. The pillows in particular are genuinely excellent, which is not something you often remember from a stay but here it stands out. Little touches make a big impression. Having beach mats and a windbreak available shows a level of thoughtfulness that goes beyond the basics. There was also a bottle of red wine, some cakes and water waiting, which was a very kind gesture and immediately made the stay feel welcoming rather than transactional. The house itself is naturally cool, well ventilated and comfortable without needing air conditioning. Water pressure is strong and reliable, which again adds to the overall quality of the experience. Everything works as it should and feels solid and well maintained. The host deserves a special mention. Communication was easy, flexible and accommodating with both early check in and late check out handled without any hassle. More importantly there is a genuine sense of hospitality and pride in what is being offered here. Nothing felt like too much trouble. If Carlsberg did short term rentals, this would be it. A calm, comfortable and genuinely well hosted place that delivers on every detail without trying too hard
