Harbour View 3BR 2BA Apt in Heart of Heraklion Easy Walk to Port, Old Town, Lions Square & Museums #2

Location to port and old town is brilliant. 5min walk.

Bathroom smelt a little damp. Decor is a little bland.

Very nice apartment with a lot of space. Very good location if you like to take sea jet next morning. Just few minutes walking to the port. Also close to the airport. The apartment was very clean everywhere except floor in the second bathroom, the one farther from the kitchen. Everything else was perfect. Very nice views on the Heraklion port. Vasilis was very helpful and very nice. If you have a car there’s a paid parking not far away.

The apartment was big, well-furnished, and clean. The Kitchen was fully equipped (even a dishwasher we did not use), clean, and allowed us to have several meals in the house. The washing machine was a bonus (including detergents). The beds were large and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, and the living room was large and nice to sit in. All rooms had air conditioning. There were two showers, again a bonus with 5 people in the apartment. The location is great. Short walk to the harbor and the heart of the city. Also, easy distance to several museums, and 2 2-minute walk from a bus to the airport.

Being at the center, parking is an issue. There is parking at the harbor (limited free and more with a small fee), which is very near, but with two big suitcases, it is more challenging, but still manageable. Water temperature varied during the shower, and drainage was an issue, but these seem to be common problems in this town.

Loved the spaciousness of the apartment. Enjoyed the access to a washing machine as well. Location was perfect!

One of the bathroom doors locked you inside. There were enough of us that we just let the person out so it wasn't an issue.

Loved the location and all the amenities. Easy check in and out. Liked there was an elevator to take our bags up and down. We were there the end of January and there was ample heat. Beds super comfy. Loved all the recommendations for dining out. Sooo good.

Very minor issue for us was regulating the water temperature. We muddled through by the end.

The apartment is spacious and with plenty of natural light, clean and functional, the front balcony offered a lovely view of the harbour and the rear balcony was a nice sun trap. Kitchen amenities were good, everything we needed to facilitate our self catering. Air conditioners all functioned perfectly. Great location, close to 2 major supermarkets (5 & 10 min walk) and plenty of restaurants/bars (10 min), close to main bus station (5 min) and a host of great museums/churches/attractions. The harbour area is attractive and offers great views of the city if you walk to the end of the Jetty past the Rocco a Mare Fortress, apart from the Heraklion archaeological museum I would strongly suggest the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology by Kotsanas which was a (3 min) walk, its small but quite honestly the best museum we've been too, informative and great fun.

Some of the internal door hinges need an oiling and the front door to the apartment scrapes quite badly at the bottom, minor maintenance stuff really.
