Good location, very clean and comfortable

I booked a last-minute stay in a studio room in Birmingham. The space was clean and comfortable, but it was much smaller than I prefer. We were on the top floor, which I didn’t like, as bringing heavy bags up and down the narrow stairs was a struggle. Overall, it was fine for a short stay, but I prefer more space.

Room was cosy and clean, and quiet.

The final details were emailed on the morning of my arrival, after I had left home. So I went to the address on the booking details, which turned out to be incorrect. I managed to contact the property at the number given on the booking details, and the lady gave me the correct address. Getting the keycode was difficult at first as the person said I had to login to my Booking.com account (I do not have one). Not having a smartphone, I could not do this. Eventually a text was sent and I got in OK. The only window in the room was a Velux skylight, and the pole to operate this was the wrong type (the handle on the skylight was non-standard, so the pole would not work. I ended up having to stand on the desk - rather precarious but thankfully without incident.

Little dated but was fine

Birmingham didn’t have trash pickup so bags of trash lined the streets, not the properties fault. Only steps up, narrow stairs up 3 flights. Room was updated and clean. Opened window was fine but when closed room was stuffy.

It's located very close to UoB, Selly Oak station and University station

Was unable to connect to the WiFi. Couldn't turn the heating off. There was a kitchen, but almost no kitchen utensils, save for a pan, and no tea towels/cloths to dry plates and cutlery with.
