Die Aüßenanlagen waren nicht sehr gepflegt, vieles war vertrocknet und es lag Müll herum. Das Badezimmer war nicht wirklich gut geputzt. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer lief zwar, aber sie hat überhaupt nicht gekühlt (sie war auf 16 Grad eingestellt, aber die Zimmertemperatur glich fast der Außentemperatur). Trotz mehrfacher Rücksprache mit dem Manager wurde der Fehler nicht behoben und behauptet, dass sie einwandfrei funktioniert.Im Badezimmer war ein Loch im Glasdach, Der Badetuchhalter fiel fast von der Wand. Im Zimmer war zwar ein Wasserkocher und Zucker, jedoch weder Kaffee oder Tee (was in allen anderen Hotels unserer Reise selbstverständlich war). Und als Krönung, wurde uns der Kaffee und der Tee zum Frühstück extra berechnet, obwohl die Buchung incl. Frühstück war. Alles in allem war das Hotel viel zu teuer und bietet fast keine Leistung. Wir können es absolut nicht weiterempfehlen.

Really quite place

In our trip of 2 months in Sri Lanka and despite 5 days of straight rain, this was our favourite stay. The road to Panama was a safari in itself, with a 2.5 meter monitor lizard, crocodile ponds, scores of gray langurs and stunning views. We visited outside the tourist season so we were the only tourists in the village, which sports some lovely beaches, a lake with many crocodiles, charming rice fields and lagoons, friendly locals, affordable local restaurants and good access to the Kumana national park. The room is charming and clean and had everything we needed. What made the stay so special though was the wonderful family who manage it and the owner is a Doctor and he is very kind and helpful. Their hospitality is genuine and our walks in the neighbourhood and evening talks thought us so much. It is people who live from their heart like them that form the true treasure of Sri Lanka. This is the nearest hotel to the Kumana National Park, and they arrange the Safari for the lowest rate in Panama/Kumana/Arugambay city. You can experience the night safari also.

Extremely helpful and polite owner and staff, everything was clean and tidy, Doctor Heshan (Owner) helped us with just about anything we could think off from arranging breakfast, barbeque dinner, recommending surf bays and trips to conversations about Sri Lanka ways of living. Thank you for everything, we will always remember and hope to come back one day.

Wild Waves Hotel is the place to stay if you are interested in Safari within Kumana National Park. We had an exceptional driver as good an animal spotter as our guide!. We were lucky enough to have him as our guide. He knew so much about the animals and their behaviors. It gave us the best chance of having so many great leopard/animal encounters. The food and hotel staff was also fantastic. If I come back to Sri Lanka I would skip Yala National Park and come here for a few nights more. There is no mobile signal in Kumana to alert other drivers to where wildlife is so usually the leopard encounters are just yourself and no-one else. Just note - the national park is still about 30 minutes drive away from the hotel (but this is the nearest hotel to Kumana entrance) and Panama is a quiet place (more peaceful than Arugum Bay). Its def not a party place like Arugum bay. Safaris are from 5am until about 6.30pm. Hotel charges only for the private safari cab. No any hidden charges. We can pay directly to the tickets at the entrance gate. I would also recommend maybe bringing a neck buff and protection for expensive camera equipment (towel to cover). There is a lot of dust that kicks up off the road. This Hotel arranges food with parcels if you select full day safari. Wild Waves Kumana Hotel was my best selection.

I found the best place when I was finding a place in Arugam Bay. Very near to the Kumana National Park. Really nice, spacious room and bathroom. Good shower. Nice breakfast. Very good WiFi. Friendly, helpful staff. Space to park myTuk Tuk. Liked the emphasis on sustainability- such as refilling glass bottles for drinking water rather than using plastic bottles.

Our Honeymoon Hotel! Few KMs from ArugamBay Town. But it is really good than hotels in Arugambay town. The staff was really friendly, they take care for everything we ask. The restaurant which where you get all your meals was great, The rooms was great, the AC working really good. Most nearest place to Kumana national park safari. Lowest rate for the Safari. Better than Yala Safari. Peanut Farm Beach and the Panama Beach is nearby I'M HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
