Location and it was cosy. Nicely furnished and decorated.

It was a little dark and the stairs are very steep

"Much enjoyed and the cottage was a large factor in my being able to do so."

9.0

Location was excellent in central St Ives and close to Royal Square (shuttle buses), restaurants and harbour.

The cottage was excellent and I cannot think of any faults. Location was excellent and allowed me enjoy St Ives and to travel around using the buses and walking.

"Poorly managed, rented out purely for profit without consideration for guests."

3.0

Cafes, beaches and coast path nearby

The travel cot didn't have a mattress that fitted and didn't work. We couldn't get hold of anyone that could help as the management is outsourced to a local company who couldn't provide a working travel cot until a day later, so our baby had to sleep on a floor mat. The dishwasher leaked when we turned it on and you could see the seal was just very old and worn out. The lockbox had to be bashed open as someone had carelessly jammed too many keys in it. There were damp cupboards with tins of old paint and musky smells which we came across when trying to piece together the various parts of the non-working travel cot advertised as part of listing; you had to try and figure things out as you went along, which is not ideal after a long day of travel. Basically, this is just a money making machine for a distant landlord rather than a properly hosted holiday cottage.

"St Ives is marvelous. The cottage was ok."

8.0

Very well located, plenty of space.

Well, it was fine. The decor wasn't very imaginative ... there was a small problem with the shower head ... really there was nothing we didn't like. But it was nothing special, either. But we were paying for the location, and that was perfect.

"A formerly nice property - poorly maintained"

5.0

Greta location, nice little cul de sac tucked away.

in no property that guests stay in and pay £200 a night for, should there be black mould (please see below photos), this is a serious health risk and in combination with the rest of the property indicated it is not very well looked after, there was a door off its hinges that has sharp wood sticking out making it difficult to access the hoover if you needed to, especially if you had young children. Despite the cleaners attending for a second time the property was still not clean, but given I was there for my birthday I did not want to get into a constant back and forth and dropping the keys etc, I found what I believe to be a candy or sweet still stuck to the bedroom floor upstairs after the second clean, just visibly on the floor. We were also very annoyed to see we had been given just half a roll of toilet roll and nearly no handsoap in the bathroom, and there was also no toilet brush, for a three night 4 ish day stay. Compared to other properties we have stayed in for the same length of time in the area where we have been given, milk, plenty of toilet roll, toiletries, towels, fresh bread etc, it really felt a worlds apart. The cleanliness and overall maintenance of the property really let us down, especially given it is £200 a night, i understand the location is the main selling point and reason for that price, aswell as it being an entire 2 bed property but it really needs some care and attention. My partner and I had to sit with the window and doors open constantly as there was dog hair everywhere and despite wiping down the couch ourselves we found it all over our clothes and socks and constantly felt itchy and sneezy. I do recommend washing the couch covers. I don’t like complaining like this as we both really tried to enjoy our stay but when we were leaving we really felt it was worlds apart especially given local hotels/airbnbs charge £200 a night and are spotless and will provide the same if not more amenities.

"Great property"

9.0

A very cosy cottage, full of charm. A great location, in the centre of St Ives. Very well equipped, everything that you need. Situated down a tiny lane so very quiet. Definitely would return.

There is no drive way to park your car but there is a local safe car park where you can park 24 hours. Not really something that we didn't like but tricky to find when arriving late on the evening!
