Charming décor, comfortable room and bed, well-equipped kitchen, lush outdoor space

Pool could have been cleaner; seemed to be well chlorinated but not cleaned of debris daily. Air conditioner (heat pump) in (Budha) room had a temperature-only controller with a non-adjustable high fan setting; had to manually adjust the vent to avoid being blasted. There was also a small fan mounted above the bed, but its low setting was too strong to be comfortable for sleeping. Not very eco-friendly! Suggestion: post a sign next to the patio garbage can about the recycle bin hiding under the kitchen window ☺️

Beautiful house! Nice and peaceful room and a fully equipped kitchen for those who like cooking! Roughly 10 mins away by foot from main attractions. Our host was nice and responsive to any questions.

Lots of mosquitos so be prepared with a good repellent at night if you hang outside your room of course. The room didn’t have a good noise isolation so it can be a bit noisy. Luckily we had very respectful guests among us during our stay.

My second visit in 3 weeks. Conveniently situated for the city centre yet in a quiet street. Very comfortable room with balcony. Love all the whacky memorabilia everywhere. The owner certainly is alternative with a great sense of humour. Appreciated having the plunge pool although the water is quite refreshing at this time of year. Excellent kitchen facilities.

There seemed to be a problem with the security code on the front door. Took 3 attempts each time to get in.

The ethnic decor in my room & throughout the establishment. So much to look at everywhere! Very spacious room, bathroom & I appreciated having a balcony. Enjoyed using the plunge pool & having breakfast on the tropical terrace. It is located in a quiet street just 15 minutes walk from the ADO Centro bus station & 15 minutes walk to the Plaza Grande. I met Martin, the owner/manager on my arrival. He was helpful & friendly. I look forward to my return in 3 weeks time. Muchas gracias.

We were a little hesitant because the last review here was almost a year ago - but we're so glad we stayed here!! It's a beautiful place with lots of details/decoration. The room and bathroom are spacious and the bed is super comfy! It also was spotlessly clean and we did not even spot 1 bug inside the room. Also, the AC worked great. There is a shared kitchen with everything you need. A big fridge and a coffee maker including coffee. Perfect to make your own breakfast like we did every morning. Then take your breakfast outside and enjoy it with a beautiful garden view and the sounds of birds and a little fountain. Lastly the pool: it's nice and refreshing! Perfect to take a dip after a day exploring the city centre (which is just a 15 min walk). Another positive note is that they send us a nice pdf with tips and places for foods, bars and more

The bin in the bathroom is too small and has no cover. Also, free drinking water in the kitchen would be nice. The jug that stood there was empty during our stay.

Location was quiet but a bit of a walk to centro; property was well-decorated, rooms were large, and the manager was friendly but powerless to help me with my problem (described below)

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PROPERTY ZERO STARS, I WOULD. DO NOT STAY HERE. In two rooms I tried, there were bugs that were attracted to me when I laid down in the beds. The first room had tiny, almost invisible bugs that I believe they call "hurmigas." I notified the manager and he switched me to another room. The second room had small ants that were attracted to me when I laid down in that bed. When out of the bed, I looked at the bed and it appeared clean. However, my being in the bed is what brought the ants out. Again, I notified the manager. He asked me to send a photo of an ant on me, which I did. I "slept" the second night on a tiny sofa hardly big enough for two people to sit on to avoid the ants crawling on me in bed. The manager came the next day and did not see ants in the bed, which I explained would be the case. I offered to demonstrate laying in the bed to bring the ants out but he did not stay in the room to witness it. I said I was leaving early (I had to prepay on this site for the week but only stayed two nights) because I did not want to sleep on that tiny sofa for a week, as it hurt my neck and back and I hardly slept. I asked for a refund, or at least a partial refund, for the nights I did not stay. The owner refused to do this. He said that the sheets were changed and I should have stayed, and that "bugs are to be expected" in this area. Yes, bugs are to be expected in Yucatan, as in most of the rest of the world including my home, but it is not reasonable to expect your guests to sleep in bed with them. An owner with integrity would have given me a refund with an apology and called an exterminator to properly fumigate the rooms. In response to online reviews, the owner posted lies, stating there was "only one ant," which is not true. THIS OWNER DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR COMFORT OR SATISFACTION, ONLY ABOUT YOUR MONEY.
