LEVANTE 23 Apartment

We booked at this property for its proximity to the central part of town as we knew we'd be arriving late after a long day of transatlantic travel and would want simple logistics once our train arrived.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Unfortunately, when we arrived as planned at 10:30 pm, the property had not been prepared as requested to accommodate a couple and two siblings (the two double beds made up but the third bed not made up). Then, upon inspection we found the property was infested with bed bugs and totally uninhabitable. The upstairs bed was literally crawling with bed bug nymphs and the mattress was soiled all around the binding. It looks like someone made an effort to clean bed bug droppings, suggesting the host is aware of the severe problem, but trying to conceal the evidence. The property does not use mattress covers or encasements, instead choosing to put sheets right onto the mattresses (which are nowhere near new); this is highly unusual for a rental property or hotel, as well as downright unhygienic. Then, downstairs we found what looked like an ADULT BED BUG. We were aghast, and despite the late hour, knew we had to find alternate accommodation. If you are able to visually see ANY bed bug, especially an adult bed bug, that is an indicator of an INFESTATION OUT OF CONTROL. We were lucky to find something nearby and get checked in just before midnight. When notified, the host expressed surprise and asked why we didn't stay and have him come over (he'd been unresponsive most of the day so we didn't expect much and we didn't intend to stay one minute longer in a place with bed bugs). He has since refused to provide any refund despite the fact that we could not and did not use the accommodation and further, has misled us saying that any refund is the purview of Booking.com (it is entirely up to the host). He says he found nothing and no condition that merits any consideration - hard to believe when we found plenty of evidence which indicates a longstanding and deeply entrenched infestation. Sadly the host is either in deep denial or deeply dishonest about a serious problem that will plague anyone who stays in this place for a very long time.

The apartment was easy to find, has a fun and unique layout, and located within 10 min walk of a couple main bus route stops, grocery stores, and city center. The WiFi worked great as well. There were several dishes and kitchen items for use. The host was most accommodating and helpful for our trip. Very grateful to them for their kindness.

Not a big deal, but when you turn the water on, it can be slightly loud. It is an older house, so that is to be expected. Just something to be aware of.

Excellent location and spacious for our family

I was travelling with my sisters. We enjoyed Brindisi very much. The apartment was situated in great place in the middle of old town near seaside. Local supermarket was just few hundred meters down the next street. Our host was so helpful and guided us the free parking near the apartment. The house was very clean, good beds, lots of room for the three of us. Upstairs another bedroom was spacious. Very easy to have the keys. We recommend this house.

Very friendly owner. Great location. Easy parking nearby. The apartment itself very spacious. You can easily reach the highlights without car.

The apartment needs some more equipment. But they just opened and we spoke about it. The owner promised to compliment what can be useful (not big things, wine glasses, knife for a bread, etc).
