Steps can be a challenge for older guests

The house itself is lovely and has potential

1) don't loose anything and have to look under a bed or couch. Filthy 2) complete lack of maintainence. Toilets that run. Doors not closing. Family bathroom door did not lock. Small annoying things that are easy and cheap to fix. 3) kitchen was inadequately fitted. Not a single piece of oven ware. Mismatch of old crockery/pots/glasses and pans and very limited so between meals we had to continually wash as the dishwasher takes 3 hours to run on shortest cycle. Not what one would expect when paying almost R6000 a day. Bred board was so old and nasty it snapped in 2 on day 1 after trying to give it a good wash to use. 4) house sleeps 7??? Seating for 6 at dining table. Old patio chairs for 4 only. 2 chairs a kitchen counter that could not be used elsewhere as they were too high. We had 2 friends from Plett visit us first lunch on day and it was awkward to try seat all. 5) double garage but only 1 door opened. I had a trailer with me and security yof vehicles was compromised as we had to park outside. 6) I am still very perturbed that this booking was made by a local capetonian and we were charged a R500 additional booking fee ? There was no international transaction and no one can tell me why..nor was this quoted as a cost. I used a discovery credit card. 7) I have been in the hospitality and property game as a owner and principal for 30 years and to say that I was wholly disappointed is an understatement. I certainly hope the owner is also made aware and not just the agent. I will not be back. The property has great potential but if you want to sell it as an upmarket short term rental then make it one. Go stay in the house with 6 people for a week and tell me if you would have felt like you got what you paid for 8) WIFI extremely erratic. I had to hot-spot myself continually to do what essential work I needed to do. 9) barbecue facilities is only a weber.
