Stay at your own risk. We had to deal with a cockroach infestation and very bad customer service. We booked this homestay because of the good reviews. They gave us an early check in at 1.30pm and after leaving our bags we went to work. At 12am we got back and noticed a cockroach crawling about in the kitchen. After that, we spotted another one in the toilet. I messaged the homestay owner to tell her about it and she wasn't helpful at all - she didn't have a cockroach spray in the house and only offered to come clean up the NEXT MORNING. We decided to take matters into our own hands and drove out for 20 minutes to get a roach spray. Came back and we killed 3 cockroaches thinking that was all and we could go to sleep. Right before sleeping, we saw another cockroach crawl up one of our bedroom doors and that was it for us. At 3am we checked out, informed the homestay owner that we were leaving. We had to drive 30 mins into Kuala Perlis to stay at the only hotel that was still open in the middle of the night. The next day, we called Booking.com to inform them to cancel this booking due to the cockroach infestation but Booking.com did a poor job of following instructions and prolonged this incident. After this whole ordeal, the homestay owner still insisted on charging me for a full night's stay (despite the cockroach infestation and refusing to come sort it out for us that night) claiming that we left one of the A/C on (we left in a rush). I was willing to pay her RM100 (half rate) for the time we checked in but in the end, they still charged me the full rate RM185. I feel so cheated. The level of accountability and customer service is appalling from the homestay owner and from Booking.com. The unit was unfit for business. If you're going to book this place, just be mindful that if anything happens in the middle of the night (even if its their fault) you're not going to get any help or service.
